So literally VERY little effort?

Yes. Every track on TPOD 1 was reworked or re-edited in someway, on every transition you could actually hear the thought and detail put into it (especially cd 1), the playlist overall was just far superior, and the flow was brilliant. If you honestly think TPOD 2 rivals any of these points that TPOD 1 has to offer then you are a ing idiot.
But that doesn't mean to say I don't like it. It's still better than I was expecting (admittedly my expectations were pretty low to begin with.)

As a PvD fan, I'd expect you to go and buy this album, and THEN criiticse it. |
Was this implying that everything I have said was made without hearing it in full? I don't need to 'buy' it, I was sent a copy for free over a week ago, in which I then proceeded to listen and make my comments. :stongue: Idiot. |

I don't think there'd be all this promotion and touring involved for a normal run-of-the-mill CD.
|
And i'd also like to point out that there was just as much, if not more, promotion involved for his Reflections Album, and that wasn't even of a high enough standard to be considered a 'run-of-the-mill CD,' let alone something good. It was just plain . |

I bought 'Reflections' and quite enjoyed it (cue: flame)

so, it would be interesting to hear a review by you! you can leave the bad things out (which are obvious because they were already mentioned I guess) and concentrate on the better side of this cd. I'm just curious, because I don't thing it is thaaat bad. |

Of course you're gonna say it's not as good as TPOD 1, but some other smart ass would say that TPOD 1 was not as good as his techno sets in the early 90s.
See the connection? |
Erm, no. Why would someone compare a liveset to a mix compilation brough out 10+ years later?
Facts are facts, it doesn't live upto the first one. |

Erm, yes. Live or not is irrelavent to my point. I'm talking about purely the actual tracks themselves. |

Then why mention it if it's irrelevant?
The tracks on TPOD1 (in production terms and general quality) are far superior to anything he was playing 10+ years earlier ... much like they're generally far superior to anything on TPOD2. |

The promotion is going to be there because he is running a business and trying to sell cds and make money off shows just like any major artist.
That said, it is pretty obvious to me that he has lost the love for the music and what he is doing. His shows and productions have convinced me of that, not because i don't like what he is doing, but it just seems pretty obvious that he doesn't have the love that Tiesto or Armin does. I think he is just going through the motions to keep his career going. That is mostly just my own opinion and conjecture though. |
