Any scene is less pretentious than a random bar crowd because it's pockets of tight knit friends with alot of intercrew friendships.
That being said, going to a bar on University night is not bad at all either, because everybody knows everybody somehow (seven person rule).
Going on a regular night to a non university bar can pose a bit of a problem.

I'd definately have to agree here... but i actually think that girls in EDM clubs are just nicer to other girls there because most girls that go to regular clubs are there trying to get drunk and probably trying to get laid and therefore makes for some attitude due to compition... most girls in EDM clubs though are there for the music making it a more laid back, social scene

I would have to disagree. Most girls actually all random girls i've met at regular clubs were not out to get drunk and or trying to get laid. Most were out from the boonies, brampton, hamilton, ajax so on, that don't go out all that often and do so just to have a good time with their friends. |

I have to agree with this. Because EDM is a niche in the club scene as a whole the scene regulars either know each other or at least recognize each other from past parties. Recognition goes a long way as there is a kind of communal feel. The attitudes come down a little because we all feel that we know one another in some way and we know that we will see one another over and over again so it is in our best interest to get along. |
