works ok, never tried shaving..will check out that stuff though. Been using Nivea and it does give a little
razor burn every now and then. |
Waxing is what I would like to do. I am a hairy mofo, any suggestions on types of waxing products you buy to get the job done?? |

Shaving is one of those love-hate things. It's a pain in the ass to do every single day, but when one has a really good shave - the day just goes off without a hitch.
In search for the perfect shave - I've made a habbit of to trying new shaving products. Anything that makes a shave more enjoyable, more comfortable and more satisfying is worth sharing with my fellow TAs.
Although at the present time I have a beard - do not discount my evaluation of the following product...
I can easily say that I've tried 30+ brands, varieties of shaving products. I have used shaving gels, shaving lotions, shaving creams, shaving oils, shaving soaps and even shaving talcs! My adventures in shaving have taken me from non-name brands through to seemingly high-end cosmetics - all in search of the perfect shave.
The product below - based on my vast experience and knowledge - offers the most superior shave experience possible. From both a performance and cost perspective - Florena Rasiercreme (Shaving Cream) is -the- best shaving product I have ever used.
Florena Rasiercreme is made to the highest standards in Waldheim, Germany and is available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Wal-Mart and other such stores for ~$3.00 CAD$ per tube (it comes in a tooth-paste type of tube).

A half-inch squeeze of product is enough for the entire face and produces a rich, lubricating lather - gentle, protecting and moisturizing. Apply to the face and gently "buff" it until it's worked into the beard, then shave away.
IMO Florena Rasiercreme is the best shave medium on the market.
You'll thank me after you've tried it. |
PLANT!!!!!!! :D |

I prefer however, to use the straight razor and take the time to shave proper.

RJ can you recommend a good place to buy an affordable straight edge razor? I saw some at the barber and beauty salon corner store at Bay/Dundas near the bus terminal. The straight razors started at $80 and up,up,up...
Did you have to buy the barber's belt and other accessories for maintenance of the straight razor? |

I've seen them as low as $20 for plasticy ones and up to $150 for high-end. Try here for something inbetween: http://www.venusworldwide.com/razors.htm

You will need to buy a strop and also strop conditioner (a cream you put on the strop to keep it fresh, pliable. |
