Well There is no point to tell you what happen everyone knows

So here is some links:
hxxp://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/newsid_1705000/1705079.stm
hxxp://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/20011211/tc/software_piracy_1.html
hxxp://www.usdoj.gov/opa/pr/2001/December/01_crm_643.htm

There is MUCH more of this...!

My Question is what do you think will happen to the trance relz groups?
Dont you think it will happen to them to?

But always remember:

THE SCENE WILL MARCH ON!

well they way I understood it, the Feds are after BAD GUYS, who sell pirated software... They are not after the college students who are just in it for fun... maybe i completelly misunderstood...
But I think that Mp3Releasegroups wll remain untouched for some time, since most of them are located in Europe :)
MoSH_MaN
Look the mp3 is ileagel too..

and in time I they will hunt down Trance relz group...

What do u all think???
dig2k
Well, im not sure... thers a big difference between goin afta the top sources of pirate material and goin afta the ppl who download it. Afta all ppl hav been bustd b4 and i've neva heard of sum1 gettin bustd 4 jus dl pirate material 4 ther own personal use etc.

Ther wud b no point going afta the common user who just downloads the odd mp3 etc. ne way... y try 2 catch millions of users downloading mp3z etc. wen u can catch 10 release groups and eliminate 90% of all the users downloads with it?

So i think we dont hav 2 worry 2 much yet, well i hope we don't hehe. The warez scene is also quite a bit different from the mp3z scene. I think mp3z are a lot more socially acceptable; programs like napster have helped bring them to the wider public eye. Trying 2 crack down as hard as they r on warez groups wud b harder to do and mite not b so successful. The whole mp3 debate isn't finishd eitha ;)
MoSH_MaN
FBI dont care about downloaders...

They care about the guys who supplys it...

There is a lot of mp3 groups like warez group

They wont care about the ppl'z that download...
tu_face
as dig2k said, the whole thing about mp3's hasnt been properly resolved yet... they r still selling mp3 players arnt they?!

warez on the other hand has no argument over it... its piracy and thats that so they are gunna crack down harder on that than they are if they ever do on us.

even if they do get release groups, they will neva stop it all.. theres always someone somewhere with a turntable willing to rip us some trance ;)
MoSH_MaN
Well the wraez wont stop aswell all

BUT ripping from vinyl is piracy as well...

And why do u think napster as closed and kazza will s00n too...

its aginst artists copyright, think about all the money they lost...

look at this as a simple equation.

WHy NAPSTER Went down; Big companies like SONY, WARNER and Whatever. thinks mp3 is illegal , so they spend lots of money on lawyers to sue the company. the purpose ? MONEY .

WHy Warez Groups went down; Big companies like Panamount pictures, universal studios, software companies thinks ripping of their movies/softwares is illegal, so they complain and spend lots of money on lawyers to sue, in this case, capture the people involved and bring down the organization. the purpose ? MONEY again ...

Why Trance Groups will survive. There are no BIG companies that think trading mp3s is so wrong that they have to use illegal actions. true that copying other peoples work is wrong. But just look at the interviews of star DJs like armin, he quoted. Copying is illegal, but if there isn't mp3 , he wouldn't be where he is now.
Blank & Jones even went as far as to broadcast their sets online. The thing is, trance isn't that commercial. the artist do it for the love of their music and not just the money.

so, trance groups will survive

you have a weak ass analogy there

So what if they sell mp3 players...they sell CD RECORDABLES too.
MP3 players are for playing LEGAL mp3s (which are clearly stated within the mp3 players' manuals to overcome legal hurdles).

Sorry dude, but get a clue!

Distributing copyrighted material, whether it be Software or Music, is one and the same. You think the recent bust didn't affect the mp3 scene? Few sites went DOWN that day, some are reassembling...these sitez aren't some faced pubs either.

Warez vs MP3z is the question of MONEY. There are big corporations (read: M$) that claim to be losing billions of dollars annually due to piracy and back it up with documents that are skewed beyond belief.
The only reason they aren't coming after -- POW, 1REAL, SND..etc -- cuz the music industry is still in its infancy in fighting "piracy" and copyright infringements. Once the music industry starts fighting the same was as the software industry...well, time will tell, but just enjoy what you have and well move on).

yea, someone, somewhere will always be ripping. Distribution on the other hand is what is in question here, not the ripping part.

blah...sorry to sound harsh and all...but, well no buts just the way I feel.

WoW SYNthSRI You are damn right!,of coruse the mp3 players are only for leagel mp3's.
All have to face it:the mp3 world is piracy, but it will take more time to crack mp3 relz groups, because its a new thing, and warez exiest 15 years.
The F.B.I operition took couple of years...
A lot of sites are dead now its the begining of the fight...
But all of you leechers dont worry F.B.I wont do to you nothing.

Again I must say that THE SCENE WILL MARCH ON!

ViVa LA TRANCE !

The FBI dosn't even care about the Trance "scene"... To them we're just specks... They care about the REAL piracy groups-- the people who have made MILLIONS of USD ($) off of piracy and actually steal the software out of companies to copy it. For just those actions, they're breaking multiple laws, NOT just piracy. These people will serve prison time not only for piracy and for the profit thereof but, for the THEFT of that software. THAT'S where it really hurts...
As for music and MP3 copyright issues, did you know that music artists only get 1 - 2 dollars profit from a 16 dollar CD? Where does the money go??? To places like TOWER RECORDS (I HATE them!), HMV, Amazon.com, CDNOW.com, and last but not least, THE RECORD LABELS, ETC. The record labels get the most profit from a CD. These are the people who care more about piracy then anyone. It's ALL about MONEY. I bet if the artist was getting 85% - 100% profit, more people will be buying CDs because they know that the artist is getting most of that money. THAT'S WHY PIRACY, IN A WHOLE, EXISTS...

THE END!

Yeah thats right,, anyone with a turntable and an internet connection has the capability. I mean burning an trance mp3 to cdr, for you own use is perfectly legal, but if u try and sell the copyrighted material, ull end up in the knicker. Its a big issue which is gonna get more debateible in the future. I hope and pray........
