didnt make it out to Lee (Damnit!) or Vision this weekend. I did get slipped a $20 bill to play Jay Z at Zentra last night though. When I said I didnt have it, he said "well how about some Biggie?" :D

I had a wonderful time. This was my 4th armin party, and no matter how he does, he is always smiling and having a good time. I never noticed him making funny faces to people rolling, but that just shows you how great of a guy Armin is.

Got to meet some new people through trance addict there, and didn't even know they lived in indianapolis. Everything was awsome, people were kind... I just wish it could go back to underground so we dont have to worry about 40year old drunks smashing into us and not even enjoying the music.

Drinks $8.25, beers $5.50, I was broke after an hour. Just cant believe how anyone can charge that much. Of course its that way all over chicago. Next time ill just bring my own 5th inside.

The drive home sucked, not enough energy (monster drinks wouldn't even help)

ps. theres alot of stairs at vision, so working out before hand is a good idea to get in shape just for the party.

I think thats a really ignorant thing to say, have you ever considerded how much Armin cost to bring in? We are lucky to have Pure promoting Ive been to so many events for free, look at Soundbar last week it was free all night and they gave you a drink ticket, what more can you ask for? God only knows how much they are paying Tiesto Jr...er I mean Armin

Tiesto Jr. Thats disrespectful to Armin. I'm sure everyone on this forum would rather go see Armin than Tiesto.

Keep in mind seeing Armin in Detroit is probably a Thursday night where he charges half of what he does on a Saturday. The Pure guys are definitely not rolling in the cash...think about how many shows they lose their asses on. The big shows pay for the (money losing) small shows.

and for about 80% of the shows you can get in for FREE if you RSVP.

and majority of the shows lose money.

i was wondering where you were for leeeeeeeee!!!!!

and most of the ppl in the ticket line were chewing their faces off - so i knew it was going to be a night NOT to remember. lots of shiny shirts and boobies hanging out.

Got waaaay too drunk at dinner on friday to be seen in public so I decided to head home and not to Lee. I was hungover until about 11 on Saturday night (it only went away when I started boozing at Zentra again)

Jeez, cant they at least wait til they are in the club like normal people? :eyes:

I'm happy to see that others felt the same way about the night....I think some of the things that got ed up were:
-RJ and Erik K playing some of Armin's fav's tracks...
-they pumpin up the crowd TOO much so there was not much energy in the crowd after 3 (you can see this by looking on the sides of the 2nd floor....) and that is why Armin played some tracks to make the crowd breath a bit
-there were how many polacks there? they all seemed to push and shove, which i dont mind TOO much since it was a placked place but when some random drunken mafioso's keep on bumpin in to you, even after you politely ask them not to keep bumpin into you..then that gets annoying..
-the sound levels!?!? grrrrr, there was something wrong...seriously... I heard it clip a few times and the rumble of the bass was just soo not clear.... plus if you were on the stage (by the cages) you could hear the reverb of the speakers....
-as armin was about playmo in the encore, the f00kin cdj wasn't workin... :-\ He was getting tired himself at the encore and he was like, okayy..time to go home now.... but I guess pure wanted him to play "another" track...
-looked like there were so many ppl on drugs...and even armin was making fun of it by giving funny faces to his friend...ha, i totally felt him...

It seemed that Armin has gotten new status on the block by the WIDELY distribution of his ASOTs online.... hence there were a lot new kids @ his show... and like, omg! omg.... :-|

But.... It was a memorable night nevertheless.... I couldn't remember all the tracks but I wrote the ones I could on a few napkins..hehe...

not in any particular order:

Deepsky ft. Jes vs Yilman Altahan - Ghost (AvB bootleg)
Armin van Buuren ft. G & D - Zocalo
Mr. Sam - Lyteo
Way out West - Killa (Orkidea remix)
Marco V - False Light
Markus Schulz ft. Departure - Without you Near (G & D remix)
The Police - S.O.S. (Svd remix)
Mark Norman - Touchdown
PG2 vs. Randy Katana.... sommmething...
Marc Marberg - Guarana
Armin van Buuren - Shivers

Encore: Marcel Woods - Advanced and that sweet vocal track...anyone know this?

thats Gabriel and Dresden Featuring Mollie- Tracking Treasure Down.....sweet tune....

Yea, that is my favorite tune of the moment. I had been telling my buddies in the days before the show that I hoped he played that. I also yelled it down at Armin from the top level vip area near the end of the set. Soooooo glad he played it....sick stuff.

Just had to say that haha, will post my review later today.

First off, I don’t think I’ll ever go to another show that I know is going to be as packed like this one was. Impossible to dance, impossible to move, impossible to breathe at times. I couldn’t even get out on the main dance floor it was so crammed. Not to mention that over half of everyone there was rolling to the extreme and it was so obvious. I mean granted there’s people that can handle it and people that can’t and act like complete idiots bouncing all over everything and everyone that’s there. Not saying I’m perfect but I think I am smart enough to know when to take a breather and sit down and when it’s ok to dance but still watch out not to trample on anyone. It really got old being groped on by people that I didn’t know who assumed it was ok to touch me because they were rolling their asses off. I was looking forward to PVD but seeing as how crammed it was for Armin, I think I might pass. I like to dance when I’m at a club. Not just stand around because there’s no room to move.

Now as for Armin goes, he was good. Played a good set. Nothing that made me go “WOW this is awesome!”, like I had expected I might be with all the hype that was brought up. Some of it seemed kind of repetitive after awhile. Almost techno. But he played some good stuff. I thought it was awesome he started off with Ghost which kicked it off and he included Playmo towards the end to help finish it off. Not to mention he threw in G&D for the encore oh and it’s featuring MOLLY by the way, not spelled Mollie as mentioned above. He’s still not close to my favorites by any means but it was a good show. What I thought was funny was that when we got there even 15 min. before the club opened, since we didn’t have presale and we wanted to make sure we’d get in, the presale line was lined up all the way around the corner even at that early and the cash line had only about 5 people in front of me. We got in before most of the presale people did. I think paying the extra $10 was worth getting in and not having to stand in line for an hour. Kinda sad but ya that’s just pretty much my review on Armin. He had good crowd interaction. Oh and my favorite part was when he dropped Without You Near. I love that track.

I liked RJ’s set. I thought he did a great job. And I think that’s why I also was so tired by 3AM. I had been up that morning already at 6AM and had been walking all day. The only time I sat down Saturday was literally my ride to Chicago which takes about 4 hrs. So my feet were so damn tired and soar I was honestly ready to crash which usually I’m ready to go until the morning. But I thought RJ really got the crowd going and even some of my friends were like “Who is this guy he’s good!” And he threw down G&D’s Arcadia which is always a sure way to get me moving and smiling. I think I danced more actually to RJ’s set than Armin’s. Reading this over, I’m realizing this review is kinda on the negative side so I’m going to stop.

Positives:
Got to dance a little. Heard some good music. Had a good time. Got to hang out with a lot of people I hadn’t seen in awhile and met some new friends as well.

Oh and I really liked the Halloween decorations at Vision. It looked awesome. I will post my pictures soon.
