I would just wave to the crowd and stuff also, but it's kind of hard doing the jesus pose when nobody else is watching you in the radio station :P

There could be children reading this !!!! :whip:

that plus the jesus pose comment...

They're all gonna take this as advice from every single one of you and grow up to become little tiesto's, or magical AvB Fairy's...

damn poor kids at disneyland, tiesto spun for them, and his mixer wasnt even on, for that one night, disneyland was a giant overpriced boombox...

Hah, i tried hooking that on. I had a really old yamaha synthesizer lying around. A small old one, to use to throw in samples of sounds as the tune plays, but found that the output wasn't loud enough. Now I'm either gonna do it properly, or just buy some sort of small amp to make the output louder.

that's what i did dude, even with the channel fader up and the gain on max, wasn't loud enough to compete with a tune playing on normal volume/gain/channel fade.

Maybe i didn't hook it up properly or something. I'll try when i'm at home next time.

The only time I actually touch the EQs is if I'm actually doing something with them... But when I do, I do have a certain way of doing.
Very often when I make a major adjustment i.e. quickswapping basslines I will put a lot of movement into it because my body is feeling the music and gets excited about the change in vibe. It comunicates to the dancefloor that I'm feeling the music and that something is about to happen.

It's the same things as pulling a guitar face, you look like a complete spanner at times but you are living in the moment. People have different ways of doing it.

I do have an issue with people faking stuff. Saw one guy fake the swooshes in Mauro Picotto's 'New time New place'.

You have to be a complete f**k wod to pretend you are doin something when there isn't even going on...

Saying that, the sign of a good trick is often, if it sounds like it's part of the music. But the ulitmate give away is always when it's a track that you know well, then you know if the DJ is a bullter or not.

Saying that, every DJ chooses his style. Some people are just more flamboyant than others etc. Some are more excited about what they are doing and others just show it in different ways.

A lot of people complain about Ableton and how this limits the enthusiasm of the DJ, but then on the same could people are getting tetchy about too much input...

Only thing to look at is if the music is good.

i hate over the top dj's.things like eddie halliwell... i mean all his scratching is a bunch of ! i like dj's like filterheadz, fred baker, stirling moss.. they actually look like they are concentrating, having fun and enjoying themselfs.. instead of jumping up and down throughout in an attempt to make them look like they are doing more than just beatmatch records. i mean these guys dont have to act cos peole are there to see them cos of their great music and not just to see them mix in a over the top fashion.
superglo
yeah but the crowds love him.
they feed off his energy and he feeds off theirs.
