Having worked with the guy, he does it because he LOVES it.
He is putting 150% into everything- and believe me, that energy DOES get transmitted across in the music onto the dance floor.
Makes a big difference......and they love it. its all about the moment.

hump the mixer?

I don't mind enjoying the music. but i'ts when u pretend to do , or try to do it in a really cool "i'm a Dj, adn therefore cool" way, that pisses me off.

like if ur jumpping and dancing, and genuinly having to turn the knobs quick, like if u wanan generate a bit more energy and have the bassline just switch real quick, it's fine.

but if ur gonan satand there and do this really cool and smooth EQ knob twist, with no change in the music, and not wearing ur headphones, i'm compelled to make fun of u, and get my ass kicked by the bouncers.

In general, any Dj with the "i'm cool, and treat me so" attitude really pisses me off. I remember i came upto one Dj was walking out, and said, hey man, that was really good, and he just fobbed me off.

I noticed that he hung around for the rest of the night, and noticed that with all the other Djs, he'd try to walk in and be in the spotlight, and hi-5 them, and really try to look like he was top .

^Djs like that.... ugh.... knee to the head please... even if they're good.

But guys be careful, not trying to look busy can get you in trouble too.. I know these two DJs who were jumping and dancing all the time set was being played... one senior DJ at the venue got suspicious and went to the decks to do some checking.. and he found out that actually these two guys were playing a pre-mixed CD and pass it on to clubbers as if they are mixing it live..

ok... but that means you only need to be careful if you are bullting everyone. it won't "get you into trouble" if you're not being a fakeass ****.

No I too condemn their 'acts'.. I even made a protest thread in MD exposing the 'artist's' scam.

Chris Allen
I think it's important to have crowd interaction, but I've kown DJ's who just stand there until a camera come's around and then it's "oh, better do something to look cool now"

Give me a break.
