Last i heard, jumping up and down with your hands in the air and everyone facing the frontstage was a concert and not a dance event.... Show me a trance party where this isnt the case.... |
You must not go to many of his shows. :) |

5 more years of EDM education will still leave me at trance. I have gone from techno to trance in a span of 10 years. Sure I like other like progressive and house but its not as fun to dance to in a club. I saw Sasha once and he kicked ass, I wont lie. But I still spent more then half the time just standing there listening to the music because... that is all you can do to progressive. |
Sasha doesn't play progressive...he used to....It's tech-house,electro,acid influenced house and breaks... |

Interesting. Because when he was here in Philly in June, he played progressive for the first half and trance for the second half. |

Here's my top 5 djs for 2005...(what it should be)
1. Sasha - Many big shows,a ground breaking cd,a successful residency in Nyc and LA (Fundacion)....best balance of underground new music and crowd moving tunes.....
2. Danny Howells - Finally broke into the main Global Underground Series With his miami cd....great shows....continues to grow as a superstar dj.
3. Luke Fair - Really is starting to blow up worldwide after being known more as a good producer...excellent bedrock original series cd...and numerous good shows...can't wait for him to come back to rise :)
4. John Digweed - Always a consistent high level performer...Great Fabric 20 cd and recent essential mix.....
5. Desyn Masiello - Continues to grow as an upcoming superstar dj with many good shows and tours with big names ie digweed/sasha/etc....many great shows and is the future of house music...
What the actual results will be :(
1.Tiesto
2.Paul Van Dyk
3.Armin Van Buuren
4.Ferry Corsten
5.Paul Oakenfold |

I actually think this year you will see Sasha and Sander K be in the top 5 and possibly top 3. It really seems to me that the trance DJ's Tiesto, PVD had fallen off a bit and most EDM listeners have broaden their ears. With Sander K and Sasha you have seen their influence on TA alone. I think if you came here last year at this time there wasnt as much of the Sasha, Sander K junkies you have now which could affect the voting a ton.
I really doubt that Oakie will crack the top 5. He I think fell off a bit last year around 4-5 spots too which could be the case this year. Many have been dissapointed until lately but to me he has toured the USA a bit to much and might not get the international vote. Tiesto to me will not get the #1 spot this year mostly because I think many were dissapointed with ISOS4.
I can definitly see something like this:
1. PVD (Mixes, Singles and POD2 if its good)
2. Sasha
3. Tiesto
4. Sander K
5. Armin or Ferry |

| I think this is the year Tiesto falls off the top spot also. I just feel that in the wake of Just Be and all the "In Concert" stuff that his buzz is starting to weaken. My pick for #1 overall is PVD - I've seen him three times in so far in '05 and each time has been on point. As far as Sasha and Sander K, yeah I definitely see them moving up - Sasha should be top 10, although I've never seen him live. (always wanted to though, have a couple of amazing progressive sets by him from the 90s) and I was debating hard whether or not to include Sander on my list - had it been 10 DJs to vote for instead of 5, he would have been on there. I don't think Oakenfold is a top 5 contender anymore either, but he's still worthy of consideration for the top 10. |
