| i just wonder how long Google can keep offering free products like this. MSN maybe free, but it comes bundled with adds. Now that Google is basically offering VOIP, how can they afford it? |

Forever. The f'ing model is brilliant (akin to "way too smart").
Build the product, get critical mass (user ship) while working IN PARALELL to figure out how to monetize it (which in most of Google’s cases has meant using the new product to drive transactions on other {already monetizble} products {search}).

im there and you added me. THe only problem is,
1) everybody has hotmail accounts, and is tied into msn, cause they like to know when they get emails,
2) people have got used to the whole multimedia interface of msn. they love the emoticons(so do i), being able to send files, and having more than 2 people in a chat.
i just wish more people would switch over! |

im not downplaying MSN... thats for sure, i love the extensive emoticons, I love the file sending and the multi-chats (though I dont use that feature prolifically).
And I like its way of chatting better...
Google Talk is just an interesting alternative... ;) |
