The shirts are definately in bad taste, but since when is bad taste against the law?
I really deeply worry for the future of this so called free country. Especially when nobody is alarmed by this sort of thing.

Toronto Cops Ticked-off by Controversial T-shirts
Aug, 26 2005 - 9:00 AM
TORONTO/640TORONTO - Some T-shirts being worn by young people in Toronto are irritating Toronto cops. The shirts have a picture of a gun, with the captioon, "Rule 1: Be Armed.''
The shirts aren't illegal, just in bad taste.
Sgt. Rob Hargan says kids wearing them will be "hassled.''
But 640 Toronto crime expert and host of The Beat Craig Bromell says that's about all police can do because there's nothing illegal about them.
There are suggestions that two of the shirts have been seized.

| We don't live in an outright police state, but we're very close to it ... most people have no idea how much controlled we really are ... how we essentially live our lives as slaves. |

Sadly we had freedom for so long that we forget what not having it is like. So we tend to give it away. |

That's ing bull!
The kids "will be HASSLED" even though the cops have NO GROUNDS for it and it is NOT illegal.
What ing nerve - I don't think that's right at all. I shouldn't have to put up with being "hassled" because of my t-shirt if it's not illegal. :whip: :whip:
Complete BULL!

the worst part is that most of these kids are already angry at authority and this will just make it worse. On top of that they probably dont know their rights and cant stand up to them.
If i were ever hassled for wearing a tshirt id just keep walking and let them try to arrest me. |

nobody is alarmed by this because everyone is sick and tired of all the gun play in this city and and the last thing we need is some idiot coming up with a t-shirt to promote more of it just to make a few dollars...i could care less if the cops hassle everyone they see wearing the shirts, in fact i hope they do...
if you want freedom of speach and you want to piss people off by the message you wear on your clothes then be prepared to answer for it...freedom of expression goes both ways and the cops are simply expressing how they feel about the shirts... |

so the cops having nothing better to do than hassle teens who wear t-shirts with a gun on it?
i'd rather have 'em look for ppl who carry a gun |
