I think he is saying that even if the looters are stealing and doing other illegal activities and they get shot for it there will be an uproar because a lot of them are black, which is true, a lot of them are black because unfortunately in the south there is massive amounts of poverty in African American communities (which constitutes a lot of the communities) and they didn't have the resources to flee the storm.
I have to say, the looters deserve to be shot though, and the people that are going around gang raping girls and women. Its total bull, black or white they need to be put down with agressive force. |
percisely, i was just too flustered at the time to explain it throughly.
and tofu does have taste when you add spices to it. |

Sorry but those heads lost their right to the geneva convention when they started preying on the weak and helpless.
All I can say is its good to see America dealing out the same justice to their own citizens that they see fit to deal out to the rest of the world. |

by stealing shoes and food? how so? |
You forgot, gangs. You forgot rape. You forgot murder.
Don't be so naieve. I consider myself quite liberal. But it's situations like this where I throw those ideals out the window.
+1 Axolotyl. Finally, America shows some domestic responsibility!
EDIT: continued

I know about the poverty in those communities, however i don't think that's what he meant, judging from the tone he used, and his posts in the other thread. |
Meh. It's the internet tones don't carry very well. ;). Just angry at human nature.
We can't blame the genes that make us what we are, but we can sure use M16s to control them. Ironic isn't it? Using violence to stop violence.
That is how it is done. Kissing ass never stopped civil unrest. There have only been a few that stopped injustice with peaceful civil disobedience. And in their case, they were the down-trodden, and they were making an example of their authorities by having the rest of the world look down upon the governement which was putting them down..
I digress.
Point still stands.
Let New Orleans Rot.
And Stren... you my Polish brother! |

I don't understand. Is New Orleans not a predominately black, lower to middle class state? In times of desperation ALL is irrational. If we would have had food and supplies in the state to begin with, it would be a different story.
For all those dissing on these "irrational" actions, who are you to say what you would do when life as you know it is hanging by a thread? Is survival not a part of human nature? no matter what the terms. I'd like to know the intent behind the gun fire, rapists, etc but of course none of that is being aired. So objective aren't we. But who gives a , SHRED THEIR ING BRAINS. |

| actually alot of the ppl. that are looting TVs and such are not doing it because they want new things for themselves, they're doing it so they can take the things and exchange them with others for FOOD |

| Don't flame me. I just want to know the intent upon which civilians are killing, raping and "stealing" |

It's one city. It's one state. The entire country was NOT affected. This isn't some post-apocalyptic survival story. This is ty people doing ty things and they have no excuse.

This doesn't make sense. Those with food are going to give it up for a TV? No. |
Yup. Trade food for TV? Give me a break.

I tell you what, if I was a US citizen i would be FUMING at the completely inadequate preparation/response to this disaster by the authorities. |
And that's exactly where this anger stems from. I have sympathy for the innocents of this tradgedy, just as I did for the Tsunami.
But what's breaking my balls is I watch these angry black/white folk. Just talking out their s, and I see their little children caught in the middle.
Is that fair? Is it fair for these "innocents" to be causing so much turmoil when there are armed gangs, rapists, and murders wandering about?
Show some ing responsiblity. God. |

The intent is irrelevant. What I would do in the situation is irrelevant. Nothing gives a group of people the right to do those things. No matter how hungry or desperate they are. |
DejaVu Jeremy.
Don't tell me national guard member Joe Sprocket would pass up a 64'' plasma flat screen in exchange for a box of Betty Crockers.
Relevancy does not exist in times of desperation. |
