Now, I don't know a lot about Amercian slang. But lately the word "Emo" is quite popular around the boards. What the hell does it mean? Why is it named "Emo"? (as in: emotions?) It's not used in a positive way at all? What I know, is that it's some kind of subculture.

oh man. i wish i lived in a world where the word emo was as unused as the word abstinance.
emo is just a ty form of rock music, buti ts not real rock (though there isn't any real rock these days, according to btg.) but emo is just a boyband with guitars..and black clothes, usually. ty music, ty 'culture'/fans.
emo kids are somtimes 'straight edge'meaning they dont drink or do drugs, i think because they're just afraid they'll have a good time if they get wasted. idiots.
they should all be killed, or wait..they'd like that. |

and you thought gothism was lame. though i am only expressing my own opinion of the emo kids and their "culture", one person on ta is even inlove with an emo kid. so i dont know that i'm actually helping...but really, just google "emo kid" under web and images, and i'm sure you be educated on the subject that way.
