Howells/Digweed Review (pg. 3)

| No it wasn't recorded. to be honest I didn't really like Digweed or Howells all that much, we left after maybe 3 hours from 5-8. Digweed the other times were better! |

Around 10 AM, I had the privilege to get into the Booth with Howells and Digweed during Digweed's set... I was mesmerized by his ingenuis, almost flawless mixing and coordinating of all inputs to create an impromptu musical masterpiece; and it was all there right in front of my eyes. What an experience. I saw him create what seemed like a 10 hour build up loop and make it into a steadily climbing progressive mountain peak only to have it drop of it's cliff into a bassline that was louder than a bomb.
Digweed is a genius, and he proved it to me this morning like he has to thousands of party goers worldwide over the course of his career.
Major Props. Can't wait to see him in ibiza again in two weeks. :)
My apologies for the cheezy methaphorical jargon... I'm still really ing high and am ready for bed.

| Digweed with alcohol makes him seem so focused on mixing and ... tried for an hour to get his attention... he looked at me then away i was ... so gave up on him trying to sign my MMII booklet |

Digweed set was amazing... I cant remember what his set sounded from Cream last year, so cant compare it to that. I listened to some of his comps, from back in 2000 and some of his sets like from Global Gathering... GG was completely different then what he dropped at Aria I found, or I was extremely tired. I totally enjoyed Digweed. To bad he was drinking.
For me Digweed still is way better then Howell's.
I've always been a huge Digweed fan... Howell's is going to have to work extra ing hard to make me a fan of his.
Plus I listen to Howell's, GU Miami again... CD.1 so boring I find... the second CD is way much nicer... but I kept talking to ppl that liked CD1 more then the second one and they were enjoying Howell's more.
My mind was set only for Digweed... another reason I didnt care for Howell's that much either. |

Its called *having fun*! dumbass , everybody have his own fun. Maybe your way to party is funnier then them.
I really enjoy the night,awesome beats,howells was ok,but digweed way much better. The place was packed and hot,the vibe was ok but not more. Kind of bizzare that digweed was supposed to start the night and the timeslot changed. Oh,also,I can't imagine some stupid people can dance as if the dancefloor was emply when is packed,you receive hit from everywhere and many time with the same people,grrr I was ready to push them sometimes and say :*Hey dumbass,that's the 5th time you hit me,can you stop damn it!* But i'm too patient,I should told them. anyways I had a huge fun. |

Wowww, ..., what an insane night, still recovering till now!! Both Howells and Digweed were amazing and kept me dancing for 10hours! (even though i had an extreamly hard time for the last like 3hrs!)
Musically I think was the best I've seen in while, Crazy Acid house from Hpwells and dark and hard prog from Diggers....., DAMN!!
And ya i'd love to know what the tracklist was as well fpr both (especially that "everybody makes mistakes track... crazy!)

i stayed till the very end, excellent night i won't go into details but i have a HUGE complaint :whip:
around 11am i was behind the booth, and one of the bouncers (the guy that usually stands next to the exit, between the stairs leading to both rooms) walked around and noticed i was playing with my cellphone, just when i put it in my pocket he told "HEY YOU! GIVE ME THAT, GIVE ME THAT NOW!". stupid me gives him the phone when i clearly shouldn't have, anyway he's like "it's forbidden to take pictures" (when he saw me playing with my phone, i wasn't even taking pictures at that time), i tell him it's a ty camera phone, that i've always been taking pictures with it for so many nights, and that a load of people do that too and they never had a problem with that. he refused to give me back my phone, and his answer was "i'm going to delete the whole memory". then i'm like "WTF you can't erase all the i took outside of the club". he didn't want to know anything (me being old staff, knowing everybody in the place, i even asked him to go with me to the office to see mario), even one of the promoters who was there tried to convince him but he still refused to give me back my phone. for 10 minutes or so he kept fooling around my phone, erasing every single ty quality camera phone picture i took that night. when he finished and handed me back my phone, he threatened me saying he would kick me out of the club if he catches me again taking pictures with my phone :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: this was enough to ruin the whole great week-end i spent.
de toutes les fois ou j'ai été au Aria depuis son ouverture jamais un tel incident ne m'est arrivé, tout le monde a toujours été poli et courtois, voir meme trés sympatiques (surtout les bouncers). j'espére avoir des explications de Jean-Fred, j'espére aussi que c'est le premier et le dernier incident qui m'arrive la-bas.

Taha, its happened to me before... I was lucky they were like just go put it back in ur coat stuff.
Thing is there were people with camera's on the dance floor anyways... I took a picture of this couple with their camera... I was like wtf! |

finally got around to making an account...
it my first time seeing both Howells and Digweed...definately an impromptu trip (we decided to go about 2 hours before we left for the trek up), but so happy we went, night was really fun, aria's always a good time, music was energetic, and met some TA cuties that were super chill (tag, jesteraver, a couple others-sorry names?) . howells was ok, made for good background music to our convo's on the balcony (which was nice compared to the hella-packed dance floor)...digweed came on at some point, my time perception of the evening is pretty skewed. i really liked digweed live, kinda monotamous after a while, but i didn't seem to mind. i've heard that he's had better sets, which is prob true, but for the whole vibe of the night, i thought it was pretty awesome. it kinda sucked that it was so packed, but it was a good crowd at least, everyone was energetic and it was pretty dope to see the whole dance floor from the balcony. we stayed till the end, a lot of people did, and digweed kept on spinning much past noon. i was pretty dead by then, considering i'd been up for 40 hours w/o sleep and we'd run out of 'recreational substances'. trip home was crappy (like it always is), but thanks to someone's "strangulated nut", we avoided the insane line at the border;).
montreal's always an amazing time, definately my favorite city. it was nice meeting everyone, you all were awesome company, and i'm sure we'll see each other again, which HOPEFULLY will be soon. anytime we can get out of our country is a good time.
any plans for new years in the works? i wouldn't think of spending it anywhere else...take care!
p.s. did anyone happen to see the crazy dancing machine/kid on the balcony wearing a red mushroom shirt? wtf was he on?! |

| taking pictures in a club,like taking the dj picture,fine,but imagine if you are stone and somebody take a picture of you,put it on the internet,legally is illegal to take pictures of people without there permission. I understand 100% of the club policy,cause,if i'm going partying,I don't be in you album,ether by mistake. Sérieusement,si il faut que prendre des photos te ruine une soirée avec les plus gros dj au monde......Normalement,on sort pour s'amuser,danser pas jouer au photographe. en tout cas,attend l'explication de louis ou whatever,mais j'ai raison,les caméras sont interdits pratiquement partout,autant dans des clubs que le centre bell par exemple. |
