I think this thread title should be Latino not Latin

btw, a question to latin americans.

are all the latin americans considered latinos or just the ones with mostly Euro background?

Heya Palladium, why don't Mexicans like Puerto Ricans? I've run into a few issues with Mexicans talking because I was a PR, even at my girl's sister's wedding.

dunno about the reasons with the dudes are you talking about...

maybe is cuz of the reggaeton stuff

i do ;)
BadBadNeil
ahhh ok, not a fan of reggaeton :)
i've always heard that Mexicans had some beef with Puerto Ricans but never heard why.

We were thinking of going to Mexico next year, you think acapulco is better than cabos, cancun, cozumel, and puerto vallarta? We were lookin for something safe with good bars and clubs, crystal blue water, and lots to do.

go to playa del carmen
BadBadNeil
just read up on it seems like a pretty good location, across from cozumel and just south of cancun. Looks pretty small though, have you been there?

Yeah! I've been finding that there alot of Latinos/Hispanics who are into the scene or rather the music than I had originally thought. I'm glad to see that, cause where I am in Toronto they all either are into their little thuggy styles/acting black. or heavily into the Latin music (strictly):(

Many of my personal(hispanic) friends always bug me because I listen and spin this kind of music and I'm not really into the latin music.:conf: or hip hop/rnb stuff either.

I know the scene is HUGE in Mexico where my mom is from and of course in Spain where my dad is from.

I wish they'd be more open minded about it here.:sadgreen:

ok 2 things to point out.

1) The question as to whether latino's are only people with european backgrounds:

it's an on going debate. The people from spain typically go under latinos as well.......but there's two sides to this whole thing.

A) are the indeginous tribes in latin amerca latino as well?

So everyone from the americas went under latino to avoid confusion. LatinoAmerica, they call it....everyone in it is latino.

B) Then there's the term 'Hispanic' which is generated from the word Espana....meaning of Spain.

So the regions that typically held a lot of Spanish people from Spain, through time, developed the term Hispanic, being of spain.

in the end, who gives a lol. :stongue:

and point 2 about the Mexicans hating on Puerto Ricans....

Being from puerto rico ive encountered this situation on a few occassions.

In Mexico.....from what ive seen, the girls love puerto ricans. I don't know why, but they do. So I can see why a Mexican guy might dislike us.

In addition, we make fun of Mexicans :stongue:

not on a grand level, not to the point of a national rivalry...but within certain individuals you will find animosity.

oh well, go figure.
