Vinyl production to be illegal end of this decade?!

OK, I read this somewhere on the forums, but it was a quick and uncited comment. Supposedly the government is making vinyl-pressing illegal because of its harm on the environment. I heard this law will pass by 2007 and by 2012, cutting vinyl will be completely illegal. Sounds ridiculous to me, but I figured I'd ask. Anyone knowledgeable about this subject, please post!

was this thread originally about you hating hiphop :conf:
if the pressing of vinyls are that bad, as they are saying, then let the production die. there are other mediums.

If it's on the internet it must be true.

Agreed, plus someone commented about that saying there is nothing environmentally damaging in the breakdown of Vinyl anyways.

You do realize that Vinyl has been around since the 1800s? Extinct? Never.

That and the fact that vinyl will be obsolete by 2012 as vinyl production will be illegal by 2009 due to environmental laws being put into effect as of 2007...
