Help - DVD RW wont burn (pg. 4)

i dont think the burner came in a box... anyway... the rest of my discs have this on them
dvd r - RiDisc 4x dvd-r
cdr - Datawrite 52x cd-r
dvd rw - unbranded dvd-rw
cd rw - verbatim 2x-4x cd-rw |

r u able to write on any of the dvd-r/dvd-rw discs?
if not then u can't use the (-) format with ur burner. most pcs comes with burners/dvd-roms that only recognize the (+) format.. |

ok lol you didnt understand me last time, here we go:
Open the Control Panel in Windows, i assume your on Windows XP?
1. Open the Control Panel and their is an option for Perfomance/Maintanence, click that
2. Click the System Icon on the next screen.
3. A Window will appear.
4. Click the Hardware tab
5. Click the Device Manager Button
6. A new window will appear.
7. Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers option by clicking it.
8. Double click the Primary IDE
9. A new window will appear
10. Click Advanced Settings
11. Make sure DMA If Available is selected on the 2 Transfer Mode options.
12. If PIO mode is selected, then change it to DMA.
Close the Primary IDE window, and repeat steps 8 to 12 for the Secondary IDE controller |

Actually he is right, with my DVDR, it won't burn on DVDRs like Laser and some of the crappy companies. Maybe you should pick cds outside the discount bin :p j/k
Anyways since this is a DVDR helping thread, my burner won't burn DVD Data anymore properly, it will just give a data cyclic redundancy error, though it can copy movies or normal CDs just normal. It used to work fine, any one with a solution? |

erm fact is the ones that dont work are the ones that cost me the most -verbatim.... unbranded ones work fine. |
