they could still do it at Central Park, but they should use another area of the park where they could set up 3 big stages, this way ppl could have more room to jump around and more ventilation. This would also give them more profit, since im sure there were ppl who couldnt get into the event because of the capacity of ppl rumsey field can accomodate.Just an opinion........... |
The area that they had the Dave Matthews Concert two years ago was huge. I never understood why they didn't have it there. |

Im guessing that because it was the first of its kind that they didnt want to risk reserving a space like that and not having enoung ppl show up to cover the costs..... |

thats what i kept sayin...... have it at the sheep meadow, but i guess intermilan is right, it was their first event and it is tru that they need to get their name out there to the NY crowd first, hopefully it will b huge thou |

Well he had his show on the Great Lawn and 80,000+ showed up for it. Of course there was only one stage but I think they could set it up with about 3 there and get about 60,000 people there. Dave Matthews also did a show at Randall's Island this year (I think 30,000 or 40,000 where there, not sure) but it was an all day festival and it was perfect and would be perfect for Ultra IMO. |

Stuck on Earth's Boo Parties were at Randall's island, they had 6-7 tents and a huge mainstage...its a ty area but it would be a great spot for it |

This thread is funny. Little kids talking about drugs...arguments about who is better PVD, Tiesto or The Chemical Bros...then you have the elitist dude come in and say anything Ultra sucks...stuff like this is so immature its quite funny.
btw...they will never hold a rave on the great lawn, they've already cut down the # of performances to be held there each year and have also drastically reduced the # of tickets for these performances cause the lawn gets destroyed and costs big bucks to fix |

I attended Ultra in Miami in March 2005 and it was waaaaay better than the one in NY. The one in Miami was from 11:00 A.M. until 11:00 p.m., the weather was nicer, the atmosphere was more lively, there were more tents, stages and most important more people! 50,000 people attended Ultra in Miami and there were too many DJ's to choose from. Oh and the DJ sets were much longer because they had more time to mix...
I know it was Ultra's first time in NY but the way this one went, I really dont think they will have another one. The only reason I would have gone to Ultra NY is to see the "Chemical Brothers". Paul Oakenfold is good too, but he already played live in Miami.
I can't wait for the Ultra in Mimai DVD to come out because I am probably on it. I was near the front of the stage, got interviewed, met some of the DJ's and was in alot of pictures of Jive Magazine. And the camera that hovered over the crowd was always right above me, so my chances are good. I am wearing a black t-shirt with white letter that say "BPM", not hard to see.
If you were not able to attend Ultra in Miami then you probably cannot comprehend how much better it was. From the looks of MOST of the comments posted here about NY, it didnt' seem like it was that great. If you don't think Ultra Miami was better then go look at the past comments made after we attended it. You will see a much greater response and much more positive remarks and opinions compared to here.
Peace |
