If Martha Steward got caught with a line, she'd get thrown in the slammer, do not past "go," do not collect $200. How does Kate Moss get away with it? It's an illegal substance!

LONDON - Supermodel Kate Moss acknowledged to the Hennes & Mauritz clothing chain that tabloid allegations she recently used cocaine are true, an H&M spokeswoman said.
Moss, who is to model one of H&M's upcoming clothing lines, apologized for her drug use and promised in writing to abide by a company policy that models be "healthy, wholesome and sound," spokeswoman Liv Asarnoj said.
H&M decided to keep Moss on, Asarnoj told The Associated Press in a phone interview from the company's headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.
"We strongly disapprove of her action," Asarnoj said Saturday. "We feel that this is very unfortunate."
Asarnoj said Moss had acknowledged the allegations of drug use were true. "That's why she was so regretful," Asarnoj said. "We are giving her a second chance."
Noelle Doukas, who answered the phone at the Storm modeling agency in London, which represents Moss, 31, said no one there was available to comment on the allegations.
The Daily Mirror tabloid printed images from a video which it said showed the model doing five lines of cocaine in 40 minutes at a late-night music recording session.
Her lawyer Gerard Tyrrell did not return a message left at his office Saturday. |

| doesn't matter...pics mean nothing (it could be anything, not necessarily coke)...her public admission means nothing (on the stand, she could just say it was a PR stunt, so prove it was really coke). |

| who cares if someone does drugs. All they hurt is themselves. Stealing from people though does hurt others and martha stewart got off easy. |

I disagree only because Kate Moss is the spokesperson for a major clothing label and which is influental on young people. She breached conditions of her contract and got a slap on the wrist. Did Courtney Love get the same treatment? She's been in and out of court for years! |

who cares? these people are in the business of making money? Why do we have to make role models out of every single person who gets some sort of fame? You know this is such a north american attitude. We expect rock stars to be perfect citizens but meanwhile what made them famous was their badass ways in the first place.
I dont get it.
Role models are doctors, teachers etc. not models and football players.
Let Kate moss snort her coke....shes only hurting herself. |

that's a little shortsighted jay
but purchasing and consuming cocaine or any controlled substance, you are creating and supporting a demand for illicit substances, which are then supported by organized crime. So by consuming coke, she's given a big 'thumbs up' to the russian mafia.
If it were legalized however.... |

| Could someone clarify this for me? I was under the impression that it's not illegal to consume, but rather the purchase or possession only was. I know it's a fine line, (unintentional bad pun and am far too lazy to think of a different phrasing but apparently can take the effort to type out run on fragmented sentence....ah whatever) but if that understanding is correct, then it's not really a crime for her to have used it, no? |
