Yep, even if there's no points. If you have 3 tickets doing 10 over the limit, it's hard to get insurance, or even a decent rate. |

What are you driving a Taurus? Buick LeSabre? |
'88 Chrysler New Yorker. Awwwwww yeeeeeahhhh.
Another thing - I don't know why people hate cops so much. OH MAN I WAS DOING 160 IN AN 80 AND I GOT A TICKET? THAT'S BULL, WHAT AN ! I'LL NEVER TALK TO A COP EVER!
They're just doing their job. Just like the rest of us. Maybe somebody else was an to them earlier, and it soured their day. You've gotta take their side into account, they're regular people too. You see them in grocery stores, movies, clubs even.
I'm not going to deny that many cops have problems abusing their power, but when you're living in Toronto with that many pedestrians around all the time, and you're speeding as such, there's a much higher danger of hitting and killing or severely injuring somebody.
Nobody wants that, and they want to ensure that it doesn't happen.
Pro tip: According to one of my buddies and my uncle, both who are involved with the police, officers usually set their radar/laser guns to 19 over the limit in a 60+ zone, and 12-15 over in a zone slower than 60. However, if you're in a marked school zone or community safety zone, don't ing deviate one bit. They'll nail your ass to the wall, especially during daytime hours. |

| how long does a ticket stay/affect one's record as far as an insurance company is concerned? |

Depends on the insurance company but typically it is three years. |

Kel is a good driver, she isn't a maniac speed freak, so this is just ty luck :( both on getting the ticket and a jackass cop..
i try not to speed more than 10km/h... but sometimes it's hard..
I remember my last speeding ticket, pulled out onto finch going down the hill from our street, am stuck behind a single driver in right lane doin' 35  bunch of traffic coming up quickly from behind so i decided best to get around the slowass quickly so i'm not stuck all the way to leslie and BAAM.. cop nailed me right as i was passing, i even slowed down to 60 right after passing and before passing the cop.. then he waited until i was ON leslie before pulling me over.. i literally was not speeding for more than 30 seconds as i passed.. what a joke :whip: :whip: :whip:
did pointz do any good on the last ticket??
ps. a red civic is probably a cop beacon :sadgreen: |

You choose the action, you chose the consequence.

That's why I drive like a grandma now. There used to be a point where I had up to 9 demerits and I was at risk of having my licence suspended, but now with the way insurance companies are, it pays to drive slow.....Even if all your friends make fun of you like mine do. I don't drive ultra slow, usually 10 or 15 km's over the limit, but that's just keeping with the flow of traffic. |

I think it's mostly about them abusing their power. How many times have you seen a cop go through a red light after he turns his cherries on? |
