wow..that's really hard to believe!

but i know i'm gonna have fun at LP

I can't believe that he's not spinning at the parade itself. And to have this happen at the last minute.

Not sure who to believe, but it's a shame, that's for sure.

I'm not saying the LP is all about PvD, but guys like him help this event out. He is the #2 DJ... where is the #1 and #3???? So yes he is part of this movement. PvD is not the experience alone but cuz of his influence and weight in the scene he is a big contributing factor. What experience is it if all there is Grade B and local DJ's. doesn't seem like much to me without the heavy hitters. EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET PAID! The only time one should do pro bono is if the cause is going to some philanthropic cause. The donation should have been clearly outlined with what the proceed's were gonna go to. It is obvious the donation was going to be used for profiting in some sort of financial way. There is no way this LP is going down without someone making any money.

Man... there is loads of talented DJs waiting to give you a great set.

And you're too hung up on #1, #2, #3, etc... bleh, poor, poor trance.

Yep, the rumors are true. Pam DJ's, the float on which PVD and her roster were scheduled to play, are not going to be at Love Parade.

That means PVD, Max Graham, Baby Anne, Icey, etc. are out of the parade.

Rumor is it's because of a few reasons. One is from pressure from 1015, afraid that his appearance will hurt their numbers when he plays there later that night. (He still is, of course). 1015 has been actively discouraging LPSF from promoting his appearance at LPSF even before the float got yanked. Thus, in the full page ad in the SF Weekly that came out yesterday, his name does not appear, and I'm sure this ad was submitted before this occured.

Second, his wife, who wears the pants in the family, apparently doesn't like LPSF for a number of reasons, one of which perhaps because she was turned down for the Executive Director position of LP Berlin, and so is maybe bitter. Perhaps it's because she's not in control, and that LP is bigger than any one DJ, perhaps she's just a .....

Curious the public reasons that PAM and 1015 will say, but these are the facts and has been filtered down to me from reliable little birdies.

It's sad. Greed, ego, pettiness ruins the day for people psyched to come see PVD at this historic event for electronic music in America. i hope people boycott 1015 that night, where they will be cramming in people with over blown covers. 1015 has been a great club for the city in many ways, but they really are being so petty and short sighted in the way they've handled this.

Of course LPSF will still be awesome, it will be their loss.

Party on people.

oh...well that's not so bad i guess, i didn't even know he was playing at the parade.

i'll be at 1015, but more for the max graham/pvd combo

I think last year's turnout proved that all wrong when attendance was over three times what was expected...the vast majority of people didn't go to see certain DJs. They went for the experience and that's what most attendees last year remember from the event...the experience, not the DJs.

Were there any headliners at last years LP? Sandra Collins....

The LP is sooo much more about the experience, then just the DJ's playing at the event. Where else can one experience thousands of peeps dancing together as one, down the city streets in the USA?

If you are just going to see your favorite DJ, you're a bonehead, think of the big picture. I went to the LP in Berlin in 1994 & 1998, didn't even know the DJ's attending, but the event itself has made me realize, it's deffinately not about one DJ.
Just A Fan
SPECULATION SAYS: Mrs. PvD wrecked the whole festival for thousands
of EDM fans because of... and PVD is a because his wife
cracked the whip and he jumped... and SFLP revolves around one
DJ/ set of DJ's in it's parade...

REALISM SAYS: It's a parade to support a movement of unity towards
tolerance and respect within many cultures and was started in 1989
by a House DJ. Since then, it has evolved into an international
movement and encompasses every EDM genre known (and unknown). One
float missing from one parade minus a handful of DJ's isn't going to
ruin the experience. PVD is still playing his show at 1015.
Everyone is still going to have a great time.

Hard facts and numbers haven't been proven. The so-called reasons
given for this change of events stem from 'pseudo-sources' and one
web based forum- OOOOOEEEEE... now that's fine reporting. If you
can't name your sources or you begin to use "possibility" in place
of fact, then it's going to result in this sort of negativity.

There are a million situations that COULD be assumed, but none of us
know the REAL truth- the assumptions here are worthless to those of
us which enjoy the experiences we have- regardless of who is
involved in delivering them.

Let's turn this back into a positive thing and not be assuming that
one person is responsible or that it's a 'kick to the groin' for
thousands of fans.

ADVICE: Don't base your opinions on here-say and 'reliable'
sources. Don't expect to have a rotten time due to one small
change. Remember that events are not free to hold... streets don't
clean themselves, security guards don't work for free and neither
should the entertainment.

That's my 2 bits- I'll be having a blast in SF.

PVD is so en old, you guys crying over him not being at the LP 2005 - I'll tell you what, PVD. Cause we dont need him at LP2005!

We need people that are out there for the music and the experience, not for money, or for a cut of $5. And I dont buy the wife story, well if its his wife he's a preety big too, can't have a good argument w/ his wife and WIN IT! hahaha anyhow, he's a and an old one at that. For me, watching PVD is like having sex with an 80 year old lady. You can do it but neither of you is gonna like it much

PVD = Powerless Vile

bye byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ps. oh yeah I'll also be having a BLAST @ SF Love Parade 2005 !!!!!:D :D :D :D :D
