That's the other point that protectionists seem to miss.
If we are to assume that a foreign company is better-run than the local businesses, then refusing to allow them to do business is equivalent to punishing success and rewarding failure. Stifling the foreign competition encourages the poorly-run domestic businesses to continue running their business the same way instead of improving their operations.
There is nothing good about this scenario. |
