I also find it kinda ironic that supposedly most fundamentalist Muslim nation (Iran) is more liberal in terms of woman than a lot of Sunni nations.

yeah i know what their differences are but the ruled of they way Shiites practice islam are weird to me...it seems like they've totally branched off and made up a bunch of their own rules and rituals...and i agree with you on Iran...they are pretty liberal for an Islamic country...it's just that we are presented this certain image of them through the mainstream media which it totally inaccurate

don't be so sure they're nutjobs...they may be presented to us Westerners in that way but doesn't mean that's necesarily the case

the fast from this year on will only get harder and harder as the days get longer.. i dont even want to imagine how its going to be 5-10 years from now..

however there is a loophole in the whole obligation from what i have been taught.. and that is if you travel a certain distance during your fast you are not obligated to fast and can postpone the fast to a later date(preferably sometime when the days get shorter).. i think this will be my way around these long days..

I'm not muslim so i don't fast but i'd like to say good luck and happy Ramadan to all who are! :)

You guys who manage to fast a full day like that are heroes to me lol I can't survive more than 6 hours without food without becoming a raging b*tch.

I'd hate to be a Muslim in South Pole. Imagine how long the days must be down there :p
