Tiesto Grooveradio Interview
View this Thread in Original format

was an interesting interview from grooveradio. tiesto talks about his upcoming us concert and also more. one part i found most interesting was that he now is using zero vinyls. he also openly admits he has been struggling with cds and that he has had problems with the mixing and admits he has trainwrecked(he used that word) more than he would like, but that he is getting better and should be mixing 'flawless' hopefully in a few more months. he says this is because he has always been such a vinyl dj and that mixing vinyls is much easier for him, but its 2005 and he is embracing the technology and that vinyls are pretty much dead. im not defending him or his mixing but this is definitly a little enlightening. alot of people on these boards give him so much about his mixing because they say he doesnt give a or he is drunk, arrogant or whatever. now it seems to be more of harder learning curve than anything. i guess time will tell, just thought the interview was very candid and insightful on the "he's a ty mixer" debate. draw your own conclusions.

I heard the interview. Good stuff! I've never been the biggest Tiesto fan, but I admit when he wants to, he can rock the place! Another thing I give him credit for is being honest. He said he's been ing up lately, but he's working on it. Give the man credit for that. Lastly, I love it when said it's 2005 and he's embracing technology, i.e. CD's. There are some people out there that say you aren't a true DJ if you don't use vinyl, etc. How do you respond to a DJ who's been using vinyl all this time and now is switching over? He is not a DJ anymore? Excellent interview IMO.

Interesting. Sasha has been in the forefront in the embracing technology deal.People just like bitching thats all.

yeah he has improved ALOT... check out his TMF powermix... omffgg

and I'll be honest too... first time using Pioneer CDjs... i trainwrecked the ultimate :D

but what i don't understand is the trainwrecking on commercially released albums... If I were releasing a commercial mix album (as apposed to just a promo), I'd redo it till it was perfect, or to the best human mix i can do possible.

if you're good with spinning on vinyl, it takes about a month maximum to transfer those skills on cdj's completely, even if you never touched them before. when that happens one will realize that spinning on cds is easier than spinning vinyl. don't want to break the big streak of support in this thread, but in my opinion, he simply gives an excuse, not an insight.

Tiesto will always be one of the best, no matter if the entire world said so from listening to him since 2000, rock on

It really doesn't matter what format you use personally I mix cd's and vinyl. Just making people dance thats all that matters.
