Was a good result for Italy. Vieri wont do though I doubt he makes the WC squad now considering they have 4 strikers better than him in: Iaquinta, Toni, Cassano and Gilardino. Gonna be a battle between him and DP for that 5th spot I assume.

Del Piero could prove a lot more useful as the 5th striker. Toni, Iaquinta and Gila are all too similar to Vieri. Del Piero can add width to Italy. If he keeps his current form, I'd take him any day of the week over Vieri. Also, DP could prove to be a useful sub to Totti who is notorios for ing up at these big tourneys
