RABAT, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Morocco has put police and paramilitary forces on high alert, fearing riots may follow their World Cup qualifier in Tunisia, leading daily Assabah said on Saturday.

Morocco must win the Group Five clash at Rades while Tunisia need only avoid defeat to book their ticket to the World Cup finals in Germany next year.

'Security forces are on maximum alert,' wrote the Arabic language newspaper in a headline.

The report cited an order to security chiefs across the kingdom from the security top command General Directorate of National Security.

Government officials were not immediately available for comment.

'The Directorate has ordered all security officials in the provinces and districts to put security forces on the highest alert to prevent riots, thefts and smashing of car windows especially if Morocco wins in Tunis,' it said.

Assabah said security officials fear that thieves and other bandits would mingle among the crowds, erupting into joy if Morocco beat Tunisia, and embark on an orgy of theft and violence.

Annahar al Maghribia, another Arab-language local daily, said the match 'was creating a popular tension', arguing that a defeat 'will cause more disappointment among the country's youth'.

'We played the Tunisia-Morocco match a thousand times in our mind. Today we will see the outcome,' said the French-language daily L'Opinion

I think they need to put some police outside of Fast's house where ver he is too :stongue:

Cameroon out, Ivory Coast in. To be honest I prefer Ivory Coast as a team but Cameroon's manager is portuguese (Artur Jorge). Though one as they apparently missed a penalty in overtime, that would give them the qualification.

Nice to see Ghana in too. They've been impressing for a long time in the youth championships (olympics, U20, U17), now it's time for them to show something at top level.

Togo is a complete mistery to me, any known player from there? :conf:
