It does not matter what is better, its all about what certain people enjoy. If somebody enjoys something you dont, that is THEIR life, their effort, their money. Let them have a good time, and allow somebody else to get the same enjoyment you may.
Why not even try and embrace these people, and see what makes them tick? Maybe you will learn something about them! I like to walk into different rooms at the Guv all access events, to see what draws people there, and what they enjoy. If i dont like it, i leave, but i still think its cool that people can/do have such different tastes.

go back and read the post.. i was not critisizing the music. Just some of the attitudes of some of it's fans and why others may react unfavourably to it.

I was on the stage for a while and HOLY my legs were trembling just lookin at the crowd going in f'in sane to Armin!!what a rush of energy!!! I guess some ppl REALLy missed this!!
who the cares whether u like AVB TIeSTo Sasha or Lawler or any other DJ...the fact is its all MUSIC..I appreciate most genres of music....ppl need to start sucking it up and dealing with it whether its ITS CHEESEY OR F'IN MEATY or WHATEVER MAN!!!...don't listen to it if u dont like it...don't f'in go to an event if it bores u out of ur mind and the music sucks ass!!!really ur only hurting ur ears!!!

i find that the "hay days" of trance was at its cheesiest. i think i would have to go pre-1997 to find trance that lacks cheese.
instead of criticizing, just move on to john 00, or jon the dentist! for some harder edged stuff. |

IMO we are in a time where music is disposable, Good music is Good music no matter what the genre is. yes even hip hop, hip hop is part of breakbeat and I LIKE IT ( not the commercial stuff though ).
i do belive that some genres reach an "IT" period where a mix of technology, the new sounds and great producers start complementing the genre, thats why a it could be big one year but starts losing it the next year, and some people confuse that with my genre is better. i've been through so many genres and in 99' trance is what got me started. but i found out that music taste mutates into other sounds. and for me now i'm out to hear the new sounds, and if a new genre comes out with some good stuff i'm eager to hear what it is.
but all in all Good Music is Good Music. |

Looks like most besides a handful completely misunderstood what I'm trying to say. I would suggest to read the post again.
First, I'm not trying to knock your choice of music. I've admitted to listining to the same stuff. All I'm saying, which was admitted by others in this thread, it just isnt the same. And your favorite DJ AVB says in a video that I posted, trance isn't cool anymore.
So, just try listening to some other stlyes. Thats all I've been trying to get at. If I like your choice of music, and like other genres that have been growing from popularity, you might like them as well. And no I'm not one of those guys standing at the back complaining how cheesy the music is. And no one is forcing me to be there ofcourse. Most of the time I'm in the middle of the dancefloor, trying to get into it but it just hasnt been happening lately (which is the case for many and why other genres have been expanding on the "scene"). |
