I don't get it...

What has happened to the entire European mainland?

Gatecrasher? a place for R&B? that's not fair:(

Recently, I've been having fantasies about spinning at Gatecrasher with thousands dancing like crazy, enjoying themselves and the music. Now it seems that my dreams have diminished:sadgreen:

like what?

There is still good trance to be had in the UK, every weekend there will be one big full-on trance line-up you just might have to travel.

For example next weekend i'm off to slinky:

Eddie Halliwell, Matt Hardwick, Marcos Euphonic

then the last weekend in October i'm having a mega busy weekend:

Thurs: Ministry of Sound, DJ MAG top 100 awards: Paul van Dyk, Tiesto (unconfirmed)

Friday: Slinky: J00f, Graham Gold, Adam Sheridan, Sander van Doorn, John O'Callaghan

Saturday: Wildchild vs Passion vs Slinky: 7 arenas, trance wise there is; NuNRG, Agnelli and Nelson, JFK, Dogzilla, Andy Bagguely, Scott Bond, Adam White, G&M Project, Ronski Speed, Mark Sherry + loads of Hard House.

Godskitchen, Passion, Slinky, Wildchild, The Gallery, Escape, all regularly have trance plus plenty of other bigger one-off nights from Cream or Gatecrasher plus a fair few BIG summer festivals.

I would say UK and Holland have the most trance stuff :)

Finally, I can see the holy grail of djs used to be djing at Gatecrasher, now i would say it would be playing final set on the Outdoor Stage at Dance Valley :D:D:D:D

tastes change.

IMHO one of reasons it has died so much in the UK is due to a girl called Leah Betts.

SHe died at her 18th from ecstasy and since then the amount of people taking E has dramitically fallen. It has put alot of people off E and as such are less likely to go clubbing to stuff like trance.

uve got to be kidding me do u really think that someone dieing would put someone off clubbing people die from smoking but it doesnt put people off from smoking.
In any case it was proved that leah betts didnt die from the E she died cose her parents panicked and gave her to much water.

of course it put people off, it started alot of negative media on E which has left a lasting impression on much of my age-range.

not really cose most clubbers know that leah betts died of drinking to much water its only the naive public that read newspapers that may have been affected the newspapers also seemed to forget to mention that she had been takeing pills for quite a few years

Id say that unconfirmed from Tiesto is pretty much a NO SHOW.

Especially when you think its on the same night as one of his TICs in USA.

Indeed :haha: The comments willalwaysbewithhim.

leah betts died in 1995, gatecrasher/uk trance was at its peak around 99/2000 :conf:

the story (or rather, the media's grossly misinterpreted version of it) has probably played a role in decreasing the number of E users but i can pretty much guarentee it is unrelated to the downfall covered in this thread
