You can't sit there with a straight face and tell me that you don't have some issue with Americans. Seriously. How many posts do you go out of your way to criticize something about the US? And no, I don't have a personal issue, but you seem to.

And with your argument about just pointing things out - There's more Britons here, more Norweigans here, more Brazilians, etc ...

wow raremusicfinder, that place was all about the mp3s, but you had to have like 1000 posts before they let you download so kids would spam the board. I really don't miss that place at all, there were a couple really prevalant kids on there who spammed like all hell, paulwilson and hamtrax, who were banned from TA long long ago.

My memory of TA goes back only to early 2001 around the time of the release of Paul van Dyk's "Out there and Back" CD. I remember there was alot more open file sharing, it was very common to chat about mp3s, there were IRC channels, audiogalaxy groups, napster rooms, every file sharing venue seemed to have a tranceaddict faction. I also remember the IRC channel for TA was alot more active, there was a link to a chat applet at the top of the forum index, and on that same page was a list of the most recent replies to threads so you could see which conversations were active at the moment, the chat room kinda died out on us later and the page wasn't as fun without the active chat channel. People in that chat would always be talking about whatever big DJ happened to be streaming a mix at the time, I remember listening to many big trance party broadcasts with my fellow TA's in the chat room , with them naming every track as they would play. I also remember chat room topics like "PvD=God, AvB=God In Training", I also remember people would announce when musicians were in chat rooms then everybody in the channel would all join the discussion with the musician.

There were several characters who were seen as the big TA ppls, each one of them was very knowledgable of a specific subset of the music, One kid knew alot about old songs, one kid knew alot about Pvd, one kid was informed on the DnB, and so on. So each person would come here and talk about the thing that they specialized in, and together they would add up to this really valuable source for information about EDM. Alot of threads would be about what somebody thinks a certain sound in a song means, or what people thought about the latest song from some big famous person. Alot of the threads subject lines would simply be the title of some song I never knew about then everyone would discuss the track. There were alot more threads with song recomandations in them, there was alot more tracklists and mentioning names of songs than there is now, mainly because we would all copy those song names and search for them on p2p. There was also alot of "is trance dead" kind of topics, that is one aspect of TA that has never changed. The population on TA was always quite nerdy, many times people have embarrased themselves by claiming to be a DJ only for it to be later revealed that they are just another napster kid trying to look cool.

Names I remember as being the really popular kids on TA back in the day:
Starfox, ABTSportsline, torontotrance, errr I better stop listing right now because I am having trouble remembering, they all had really memorable sigs and avs and stuff and would always be bragging about the promos they had the hook ups for and it would always make me super jealous (still does), but the big TA kids were always the kids who had these MASSIVE song collections and had the hook ups for prerelease tracks.

You obviously have a problem with America and I obviously have a problem with Afghanistan.

And I noticed your one of the more popular TA members here and I fully agree on your take on EDM Djs/producers/music as being on point and cant clearly see you know your stuff. so I'm very sure that a lot of the TA members are going to take your side and try to bash on me since I'm The Rookie here ;) But it's o.k. bash away all you want if won't hurt my feelings at all and you know that as well as I do. My point is that the statement was really disrespectful and it's only right that I retaliate when this is coming from someone from a country that is a flea compare to the U.S.

Yes [[place your country's name here]] ed it up. as usual.

^^^ Would you react kindly if you saw a statement posted like that.

anyway your still missing the point. my point was the COR was full of american's who dont post outside of there much. I wasnt talking about the whole board in general.

Go look for a fight elsewhere because i'm not up for it.
