Wow... what can I say. This was definitely one of the best parties I'd been to in a while.
To be honest, I didn't really have high hopes for this party. The trance lineup was kind of weak, (just second sun and preach who is more tech-trance/techno anyway)
I almost left at one point because my girlfriend wasn't feeling too well and it was such a LONG wait until 3:45. Thankfully our local breaks dj's saved the day and rocked out amazing sets (turtle, big league chu, d-monic, etc)
That got the groove for the night going, got me dancing and the time ended up flying by pretty quickly. Before I knew it it was time to head into the main room for Second Sun.
I didn't really know what to expect from these guys, having only heard Empire, Crush, etc. I must say it was one of the best LIVE performances I've seen. Antoine has an amazing voice and the guys really know how to play to the crowd. They even tweaked their set back at the hotel room before the gig after hearing what the local toronto crowd likes.
I thought I'd lost my dancing legs by the time Preach came on (5 or so?) but it only took me about 15 seconds into his set to start moving. Jesus. He kicked my and everyone elses ass in the entire room. Even though the place had a handful of people he played like it was Dancevalley main-stage!
Relentless beats. Thats all I can say. I'd never heard a dj set of his before - only his productions (which I like and own a few of them).
Aside from his amazing technical ability and track selection - his crowd interaction was INTENSE! I honestly felt like he was playing to me. The eye contact, hand gestures, smirking... the guy knew we wanted it badly and delivered time and time again.
Every time I stopped dancing for a rest, he'd give me this look and I actually felt GUILTY so I'd start dancing again! haha... it was crazy.
After the show I ended up bumping into Second Sun's manager, Chris. Really really nice guy. He ended up inviting my girlfriend, Sean and I back to their hotel room and we continued the party there.
Needless to say it was a wicked time - a couple hotel rooms full of mostly Canadians, with a few visiters from the U.S. All in all they were a really stand-up group of people that truly love what they are doing. Shortly after Preach showed up to chill for a bit and I had a chance to ask him all about his studio life and his recent sucesses. This guy has it going on, he is definitely some one to watch in the coming months and years. I predict him to be up there with the big jocks in no time.
In my opinion, he already is in terms of skill and enthusiasm.
Great party! 9.5/10

Half way through Preach's set. I noticed the mohawk second sun dude hobbling along with crutches [DAMN! utmost respect to him for STILL performing while being injured!] I pushed Sean and said goooo talk to himmm. Sean said hey blahblah and....wait for it.. I TOOK A PHOTO OF SEAN AND THE SECOND SUN DUDE!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! nothing beats taking a pic with an awesome dj.
