| If Made says it's 18+ on the flyer they just sent to me by email, but Roxy's website says 21+, what is going to happen? I would like to know. I will give Roxy a call today. |

I don't know about all of that specifically but it's certainly along the lines of what I was thinking. Whenever local/state/federal gov't takes any kind of action be it good stuff or stupid sht like this it's always about money. Maybe if Roxy was filled w/rich Hamptons kids every week ...
Made Event seems to be still trying to plug this thing via email as if nothing happened. They're even saying that doors open @ 9. Is it 9 or 11 :conf: *sigh* Too much confusion. At this rate I might as well just go to work that night, order myself a cake from Coldstone and have my b-day at the office lol. :p

It's the fact of the matter. Crobar as a business (both legally and illegally) amongst Quo, Marquee, B.E.D, Spirit between 2 blocks can probably turn in collectively over a weekend over a million. Bar, bottles, admission, tips, and drug sales (in-house dealers) could probably net a nights profit of over 500K per club. Lets be real about it, any business in NYC has certain "overhead" they must make per month, rent included. 4 weekends in a month, 3 big acts attracting more than 3,000 attendees per weekend. That's money towards their overhead.
And by overhead I mean their monthly cost to continue business. Both restocking the liquor, paying for rent, electricity, and "LICENSES" (cabaret + under-the-table-make-sure-my-club-stays-open-fee) which means cops on horses walk up and down the street and firemarshalls get the night off. Let's be serious - Roxy is out of the way, it's trying to make some money and it has a HUGE party coming up, what better than NYPD and NYC to make a large stake by shutting it down 2 weeks out from its large party? That means, Roxy has to pay triple to stay open, make triple on the event, and at the same time pay all the necessary overhead for the night(s).
The city is clearly locked down...if it weren't Twilo would still be open. |

Alright, so I called Roxy and they said that Paul van Dyk will be 21 and over. You need to contact the place that you got them for the refund.
I have no idea why Made is still pushing this as advertised 18 and over, because it's not.
They also said that they do not know when the doors will open.
In light of all of this, I am going to get an id. I am not worried about where I will find one, because I hear they are relatively easy to get.
The question is, should I get one that scans? I have been to Crobar and Spirit before, and they have never scanned my id (my real id since I am 18), they just look at it and hand it back. What I'm thinking though is that since they just got this 21+ rule, they will more than likely be scanning the ids. I think I've answered my own question but just wanted to hear some other opinions.
Also, as a last resort, I could make an id out of my real id, it wouldn't scan though. I mean, has anyone ever seen a drivers license from new mexico? |

I highly advise against doing this. I may be wrong, but I think that altering a real government ID is worse than faking one. I may be wrong.
I'm guessing that they're going to be really strict about IDs and if you've never done this before, now wouldn't be the best time to start. Then again, I remember being underage, so I get it. |

Heed his warning under 21er...
Remember the establishment is already under review, you think they are going to let some kids in with fake IDs. My guess is they will be ultra strict on who they let in "age/id" wise. They don't know you, maybe you were hired by the NYPD to do the same thing again right? Or you could just not listen to us and find out how much of a dick roxy bouncers are. And of course the fully deserved walk of shame, please step off the line. It's happen to us all, but I'd have to say you are brave if you try, especially with the current circumstances. |

Yeah, I've done the walk of shame off the line a few times in college. I used to have a real ID of a guy from Missouri that looked strikingly like me that a friend of mine found at a laundromat. The only problem was that he was 5'11", which if you've met me, you know is a bit of a stretch. :) |

It's not so much that I am brave but more I have had these plans for months. My girlfriend was supposed to come out for her birthday and I was going to show her an awesome time in nyc and we would've seen pvd together, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen.
I think we will try and get in with fakes, at least if I get turned away I'll have a story to tell and know better next time.
this is so lame,:( |

| I'm 23, but will the bouncers accept my UK photographic driving license card or will they need my passport? |
