Stormy month…
Hi everybody!
I just came back to Amsterdam, unfortunately, because I was supposed to be in Miami and New Orleans this week. Miami will be rescheduled later this year. I feel sorry for the New Orleans show that had to be cancelled because I was supposed to play for all the people that helped after the Katrina disaster. But I will try to reschedule a date for new Orleans as well next year.
I also just found out that I am number 2 this year in DJ Mag's top 100 list. I would have loved to be the winner for 4 years in a row but if there is one DJ who deserves it for everything he has done for dance music in the last 10 years, it's got to be Paul van Dyk. I am really happy for him and wish him all the best.
Love,
Tiësto |

Dj Tiesto is the best trance dj,
I've been to his concert in gelredome (the netherlands). He also performed in a dance club back at home where i use to work.
Very good dj, and a nice guy! |

Neil & Ryan would have something to say about that, indeed. |

actually ryan and rach would. ive met him twice and he was nice both times, but it only takes one bad experience to change one's perspective, and him being rude to ryan and rach was basically being rude to me-- really was one of the low points of my wmc05...but i separate the man from the dj...as for all this whole trainwrecking slander is really really archaic, i mean cro-magnan old. the guy still brings the best tracks and still rocks space like few can, and ive been clubbing space longer than all you space neophyte morons. no offense to pvd but he has never had a set on the same strata as tiesto and alot of others i can think of. or maybe i havent been listening close enough, but every time i see pvd there, i walk away saying, "damn, edgar blew him away AGAIN." not to say the sets were bad or anything, actually they were quite good, just not on that superlative level. at the sametime i view pvd as a pioneer in dance music and he has brought alot of class and innovation to the scene. but give me choice between him and tiesto live, and i will choose tiesto everytime, and im sure a lot of you guys would choose paul everytime too, just a matter of taste. but im done with the days of berating one to exult the other, and with "who's the better dj" BS, its all relative. all im asking is that some of you refrain from this incessant trainwrecking diss, its been a fun ride, but lets all move on; because its well documented he has had his fair share of trainwrecks. so pointing out the obvious is rather redundant and generic. sorry for the rant, its just a little irritating that everytime tiesto's name is mentioned the obligatory "trainwrecking" slants come with it. peace, love, and electronic musik!!! |
