Can't believe noone's started a thread yet...

Ok, 1st time to the new Boa. Took a cab, got to the front, only to find out we had to walk to the back to enter. Stood in line a bit (waiting for the free entry tix) and got in. Entered into the lower level. Nice space, good sound if standing right in front of the dj booth, but need more speakers in the back. Hopefully in time... An unwelcome guest with me that night was the migraine that decided to tag along. Took some med's for it, but it was taking a while for all the light sensitivity to go away. Ended up sitting down, not enjoying myself during Kevin & Richard's back-to-back sets, so I can't even comment on them. Looks like my migraine was contageous, as Dallas came down w/one too, and she ended up leaving. Most of the TA's ended up leaving to go to Sneak's b-day beats, while some of us stayed. My heart was set on Boa's lineup anyways.

Started to feel a bit better, went upstairs to catch the tail end of Coleridge's set, and FINALLY, some beats to lift my spirits! Then Falcon came on, started off really good- even dropped a song that definitely sampled a "Flight 643" loop, no one else even noticed. Decided to catch some of Sultan downstairs and got totally sucked in-wicked wicked beats! Then back upstairs, and now Falcon was on a vocal circuit trip, and starting to lose me. Maybe he was playing to the crowd? (which appeared to be lotsa shirtless boys) Went back downstairs, and Sultan was still dropping wicked tunes. Too bad the room only had like 30 people in it. This guy needs some serious acclaim- would definitely recommend people check him out the next time he's here.

Otherwise, good to see the Boa staff together once again. Liked what they did with the upstairs of the club too. Drink prices still a little pricey, tho... Left around 4:30 w/Tara, and popped into Chrismack's loft party again, b4 heading home. You guys GOTTA see his DJ table.... drooool!

Definately a wicked night.

Really liked Richard Raibans 2nd set, and Kev once again showed everyone why he deserves to play Boa on a regular basis. Had the crowd going off! From what i heard of Sultan was good (but by then, most of the crowd ventured upstairs). Ralph Falcon was playing HARD, and had the system redlining at times im sure - he really pushed it. Great tracks for the hour and a half i caught of him. The sound in the main room showed significant improvements (thanks to Li), and im convinced he'll have it perfect in no time.

Thanks to everyone who came (early), to support Kevin. With this kind of turnout on a regular basis, it gives myself an opportunity to do more local bookings, and TOTA dj's a chance to play Boa!

See you next week for MV ;)

Jeff thanks for the passes.

I was impressed with the new club, the upstairs looks great, and the downstairs had a fun vibe to it.

Boa could have been a bit more packed... I felt bad for Sultan!

And what's the deal with the flyer saying "$10 off above prices (ie. $20 b4 2am) with student or ISIC card? I mentioned this to the bouncer and girl in the booth and neither had any idea what I was talking about. :whip:

Overall I had fun... it will be interesting to see where the saturday night loyalities are... 270 Spadina or Boa!

Awesome! The new Boa is wicked and has a lot of potential. The beats were sick and there was room to dance what more could I ask for. I definitely will be visiting there more often! :tongue2
