"G where're you going?"
"why do i want to listen to McProg *points to markus* when i can listen to some REAL prog!" *scoots over to GU room* :toothless

in all seriousness kasey taylor played a wicked set that night, the way melbourne prog should be, deep, driving and twisted! not a single electro track in sight, which was a welcome change in an electro saturated party, imo :D

i felt a bit sorry for those who missed technasia LIVE. one hour live performance went like it was only 10 minutes, and they did it without any laptop, just samplers and sequencer.. oldskool style :D

charles siegling then proceeded to man the decks and mixing up one of the best relentless 3 decks tek set i've heard all year! with only 40 or so odd people in the hardware room (compared with 5000 or so ppl next door at rod laver for steve angello) i can't help but feel a bit sad with what melbourne 'techno city' has become ... the handbag city :(

uh... and some tracks:
Motor - Sweatbox (Chris Liebing Remix)
Len Faki - Just A Dance (Technasia Filter Dub)
Alexander Kowalski - Days Of The Liar (Joris Voorn Tribalicious Mix)

i'm lazy! :toothless until the next TT ;)

Think Future should ditch the Function Room support idea. It's seriously so disappointing to go to rooms that have great acts playing, with no people and consequently no atmosphere.

YES and YES!!

This was my first big event without a big entourage of L-platers - just myself, LJ, Ben and Katie really, and it was awesome to not have to play the role of social coordinator. I think sometimes we get so caught up in playing dance-music ambassador to our just-coming-into-things friends that we end up losing sight of our own experience - this time I was at TT for me and me only, and having spoken extensively to me over the past few days I can confirm that me really enjoyed the whole thing! (as did I )

Secondly, Max Graham was the main attraction of TT for me - I would have paid full ticket price just to see him, in fact. Putting him in a dingy side room (with an admittedly rocking sound system, but no lighting to speak of) with Eric Morillo on one side and Armin on the other, I mean, if you've got the King Kong of house on one side and the Armin Van Buuren of trance on the other, where's a dude like Max Graham supposed to go?

Give old Max a proper mainroom gig and slot, god knows he's had them in every other decent clubbing city on the globe. He was visibly disappointed in the turnout, and why shouldn't he be? He could have played for more people if they'd put him in side room at Volume for the same night and same time slot. :(

Max Graham = 10/10 in my books.

do you think the threat of sniffer police outside kept alot of people away... serious question! cos there seemed to be a lack of mad people about, well cept for me!

had a great night! was suprised to hear armin drop my holden booty. was great to see what a packed vodafone arena thought!

shows that progressive and trance under the one roof is very much alive in melbourne, all we need is the 5000 odd people that were rammed in vodafone arena to come out and support the local scene some more rather than once of twice a year!

You are so right with this it's just insulting to some great djs!!

Yes Nyquist Theorem totally agree with you re Graham. It's a joke because the promoters want everyone at their event we don't get sideshows and let's face it most of us would go to both!! Numbers at Two Tribes appear to be down anyway so their stategy isn't working anyway. We're not happy because we didn't get to see what we wanted and I'm sure the djs don't have a very good impression of Melbourne . Can't really see Max hurrying back :whip:

We came, we conquered, we trashed our hotel.:D

My first Two Tribes, and now one which will definitely be an annual pilgrimige. Marcus was alot better than i expected, not at all what i thought he would play. Wicked tunes and warmed up for Armin superbly. Now if only he could hear his mixes dropping out and rectify promptly. Armin was simply amazing and completely had that massive crowd in the palm of his hands. Although Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams and Prodigy...WTF, totally out of place, but got a good response regardless.

Big ups to the Adelaide massive that were all front and centre from Steve's set right through to close. Admittedly being just a tad out of control.

Till next year:D

Hey mang,

the tune after summerdream is called: Narthex - Bully
Narthex is an alias for Airbase. Jezper said the release is due for Mid march, but the tune on the flip is even more killer. He was kind enough to give me a sample, and it is an uplifting mega trance tune!!!!!
Its "John O'callaghan and Kearney - Restricted Motion (Airbase Mix)"

get on it. :)

Totally agree
was cut up inside that i missed the likes of Graham, Lavelle and Morillo, as i spent my time from 11 until about 6 in vodafone arena rocking to some ing awesome tunes in an unreal atmosphere

Armin and shultz rocked it imo, and i dont regret for a second my choice of venues for the night, but would have LOVED to see graham etc aswell.

Melbourne needs an event somewhere like the MCG where its one stage and 50,000 people going off not dissimilar to sensation in Amsterdam

Now that would be a ing event

Sadly there are many reasons why that is unlikely to ever happen, but oh well, i can dream.....
