I studied in Leiden and Amsterdam, mostly in Amsterdam, but I had a Psychology advisor at the Universiteit Leiden who basically set up my course schedule...

Funny that you mention Utrecht though, I just got denied acceptance from the graduate program at the UCU (And I've got a 3.95 Cumulative GPA right now) , but I'm hoping I'll be able to get in after next years grades/credits are in...

yea i'll most likely do the internet cafe thing as well, i just have a feeling that it'll be easier to make my calls from the hotel at the end of the day rather than trying to figure out when i can get into an internet cafe while we're out doing tour stuff.

plus i'm online way too much to begin with. when i'm overseas i'd rather call home and hear Rob's voice rather than MSN-ing or typing an email.

but i might have to make the obligatory "greetings from xxxxx!" thread in the CORe. :toothless

You wanna go to Zakynthos

Bit too many Brits there though :p

But it's definitely a nice island, at least for a week or so as it's relatively small..

we just avoided the brits, and were there for 2 weeks

to be fair, most of the time was spent tanning by the pool, but the cruise to Kefalonia was wikkid :D

I remember my trips to Greece. Got so drunk on Ouzo with my mates. Doubt I'll ever drink that again. :nervous: Pretty much everyone speaks english in Europe, no problem.

You're FROM Greece, you understand the social norms and are apparently numb to the social differences between your society and ours. Not only do I personally know someone who was mugged while they were in Greece, EVERY single girl with my study abroad program in the Netherlands (Not just Americans, women from all over the World) who traveled to Greece felt harassed by how "forward" (and that's being polite) most Greek men are. It's not always about crime rates, it's about how people interact socially, and it can make people uncomfortable, especially if they travel into a country where they don't understand the acceptable social norms. All Myra is trying to do is educate herself.

And if you think for a minute that experiencing the history of a country is "boring," I feel incredibly sorry for you...

Why is it everytime I make a post here, which is rarely, I get "harrased" by geeks. Greek men are afraid to talk to women. Theyre ing terrified by the thought. Now grabbing ass and saying stupid comments is something that they do when theyre on holidays(so nobody knows them) and they're drunk, because theyre afraid to normally approach a girl and start an interesting conversation. Don't you do stupid things when youre drunk geek boy? Greeks in general, especially out of the main cities are very friendly. They're friendly to the point where you havent even experienced that much friendlyness in your crime filled country. Its pretty funny how an american is giving me about my country's safety. Whens your next school shooting tour boy? Is daddy's gun locked and loaded?

Now about your other point mr idiot, you cant experience Greece's History by going sightseeing for a week and seeing a couple of theaters and churches.(Churches by the way are not part of our honorable history, nor is christianity) You do it by studying yourself hours and hours and ultimately becoming someone knowledgable about the Greek history and someone who loves it and respects it to the core.

To the original poster, I didnt catch that its a present from your mom. Im sorry and I think that you'll have a good time, although not as good as if you came in the summer. Ive been to several tours with my parents abroad, and yes, I find them boring and I want to think Im not alone. But if you rarely see your mom you should grasp this opportunity to be with her and enjoy each others company as much as you can during this week.

Let me get my shield and armor now.

ps. Kefalonia is crazy indeed.
