OK I lived in the former USSR so let's start with racism and skin heads in Moscow.

Moscow, has about 400,000 Russian National Socialist (Nazi) party members, they have done severl hate crimes over the years including the offings of certain media kings and journalists and reporters.

I've a Russian magazine on this issue right now. Done by a British reporter who immigrated from Russia and had set up meetings with different heads of these mobs. There are pictures where they are sitting around a table with AK-47's and 72/4's and drinking some vodka.

They also talked about certain issues about foreigners in their country and what their party represents.

Russia and the former USSR republics have TONS of minorities that are regarded as lower than dirt. Anyone, especially of Muslim heritage, is seen as an enemy. Gypsies are amongst this group. Jews are as well in certain parts, though very often hold way too much power.

Pretty much the problem is that the youth in Russia and former Soviet states gets no education and has no future, so they begin to fall into these radical groups, which is seen in many places around the world.

Would be great to have the viewpoint of someone who is Russian and lived there or has friends etc. who lives there, they would be able to more elaborate on exactly what the circumstances are as Lepanto has mentioned. It does say something when these supposed "Nazis" can't get a university education and yet you have many foreigners who go there to attend the universities, wonder where or who the real problem should lie with. It does say a lot about the government mostly.

I have lived there, have friends (no family there, anymore THANK GOD!) and have people who are active in the government there. Also, my parents who speak a few languages, often watch Russian news based out of both NYC and Moscow and Kiev, Ukraine. So i'm pretty up to date on their events. And as I've said I have a 30+ page article about this in front of me.

The foriengers who go there to get an education aren't coming like they used to. This used to happen in the Soviet days when education was free and was expensive in the West, so Africans and so on used to travel to Russia. There are universities, but there are pretty much no jobs available. In the early 90's when I lived in the Ukraine, teachers wouldn't get paid for months at a time. Factories that were known throughout the whole union, were closing down. People were literally depressed and suicide was very in.

Its rather ironic this subject is being discussed as I recently moved, and my movers were you guessed it Russian, the area I moved to has a lot of Russians living there in Brooklyn, NY. So far I have seen a lot of hot Russian girls around the area as I tour it, got to get them before they hit 35 though, :) All downhill from there is the common belief lookswise. If PBS wanted to hire me to go to Russia for a year to live and investigate I would remove my apprehension and take it up in a heartbeat. Despite the racism, I admire the cuture, history and vastness of the land as an historian and lover of global cultures.

I'm from Brooklyn as well. The Russians around here aren't the same. Too many reasons ot list why.

And you should also criticize the UK for trying to hold on to some small parts of Argentina and being ready to send military contingents there to fight.

And i will criticise Spain, UK, et al when the thread is in context

me and my cuzin who are on TA aren't tall, i'm 6 and he's 6/6'1 and we're both tanned.

first off, the "russians" who came here, are very often Jewish because they were allowed to leave the USSR in 1978. Alot of people who also left where thugs and mobsters who couldn't do much back in the USSR. the ones that are here, in large, aren't alcoholics but are mostly businessman or hard working middle class people. They also like it here better than they ever did there. Note: that i'm not only of russian heritage myself, but have dozens of russian freinds, class mates and also work in a russian 'hood, Brighton Beach.

What the hell does your stupid post have to do with ANYTHING?

EDIT: HardTrancePod if you're refering to Russians trying to hold on to their land in Chechnya, then you really miss the point. Russians don't give a about the land, they give a under the land. Do you know that Russian Speznaz (Special Forces) go into Chechnya and massacre villages for training exercises? Take a look at some photos of Grozni (sp?) NOTHING LEFT.

But, yeah I guess your knowledge of Russians is much better than mine, blackguard  :haha:

by hood i meant a neighborhood. it's not a ghetto, it's reknowned as a Russian populated place. stop voicing your nonsense on this topic .

Might wanna back up a little there HardTranceProd...

The Falklands is British property. The only reason we used force to get it back is beacuse THE INHABITANTS WANTED TO BE UNDER BRITISH RULE. Same goes for Gibraltar or the Jersey islands.

It's the right of every British citizen to be extended teh full help of the government when needed. Just because it's near Argentina doesn't make it theirs.
