now... does anyone know of any programs that disguise messaging into something that doesn't appear to be messaging? i have full freedom at work to download anything i want, go to any site i want, but if someone sees IMs on my screen... i'm in trouble.

I think i got the answer.
http://www.mess.be
Then click on the following options
-MSN Messenger Downloads
then...
-MSN Messenger Addons, Bots, Tools & Tweaks
then...
-CVR Patcher

"Patches your MSN Messenger 7.0.0205 BETA to fix the block from Microsoft. It dumps 11 random characters over the MSNMSGRBETA string sent on the Notification Socket, which tricks it into thinking it's some random other client (I made them random so Microsoft can't block the patch as well)."

Will this work?

Found 2 more possible solutions:

If you have access to "Command Prompt" (MS-DOS in Windows Basically) . Type "cd.." until you are in route folder "C:\"

Type "Ping" and then type the web address eg

C:\PING www.hotmail.com

This should now appear with a message similar to this:

Pinging www.hotmail.aate.nsatc.net [213.19.160.188] with 32 bytes of data:

This goes on for a few seconds while the system communicates.

The IP given after the address, i.e. 213.19.160.188 should now be typed into the internet explorer address bar.

The website should now load normally.
CAUTION IS REQUIRED WHEN USING THIS IN SCHOOLS BECAUSE IF TOO MANY PEOPLE FIND OUT HOW TO DO IT, THE IP ADDRESS CAN BE BANNED TOO.

Also, in some cases, links on a website will not work, and unfortunetly pages cannot be "Pinged" with forward slashes.

This worked fine for my school network perfectly fine right from Year 7 to Year 13. The system used by the school may prevent access to "Command Prompt" for this reason. However, if you are capable of creating shortcuts, go to a user area or something, File>New>Shortcut type "Prompt" and the wizard should find command prompt.

I hope this helps. As for MSN MEssenger, I cant help there, use the PING method to get to E-messenger if the site is blocked
