Transverse rear-engined, rear wheel drive. 799cc common rail turbo diesel.

Is there video of one of these things doing doughy's? I reckon one of those would be quite fun in the snow in a wide open space. You could get such tight circles, and I'm guessing it's got a pretty low centre of gravity.

I've not been able to find one. Also hahah, doughies. That's so Australian.

OYE SHAZZA HEAD ON DOWN TO THE LOCAL B&S TO DO SOME DOUGHIES WITH GUIDO AND IMPRESS DA CHICKEE BABES IN YOUR VL TURBO, FULLY SICK MATE!

lol
Have you been spending time in the AUTA forum? :p

I don't usually think of doughies when I think of cars, but for some reason watching that crash, and then realising how small/compact the car is must've got me thinking how well it'd work in one of those.
Cosmic Fur
I personally want to buy one, and then drop like 20 grand in mods into it - engine, suspension, tires, the whole deal. It will tear up the streets, looking ridiculous, and making the cars it destroyed look even more ridiculous.
arek
that car is NOT safe at all.

Exactly, thats why its so heavy compared to its size.
Moral Hazard
I hate to break it to you folks but this car is in no way shape or form safe. Because the vehicle does not crumple as do most modern vehicles all the forward momentum of the vehicle is transfered to the passengers as the vehicle is brought to a stop. with a three point harness this means the forces are transfered to the restraint system across your waist and torso..... this will result in broken ribs (possible punctured lungs), pelvic injuries (possible fractures) and potential soft organ injuries. Sure the vehicle fairs well, the occupents do not. Same is true of 60s muscle cars.... they showed very little damage from accidents but the passengers were mangled. The key here is that the more energy the vehicle dampens the better for the passengers, this vehicle does not absorbe much energy, therefore the passengers take the brunt of it.

Euphorica
so I guess all those race cars with roll cages and 6 point harness' are unsafe.....

its hardly a 60's muscle car.

He's right you know.

I was talking to my brother and he was at my mechanics shop and he had a Smart car there that was in a head on collision, didnt get the details, but the driver was in very bad shape.
