but even there was a demand for "Wet" it would still be considered racist.
What if we had a white heritage month the same as blacks have february as black heritage month?
And dont tell me that every month is white heritage month either because how many white people really know their history? Especially canadian history? |
Exactly!!!! |

go complain to your government if you want a white history month. It's just that black people went through years of oppression, not being able to play baseball or any sport for that matter.. having to go to the back of the bus.. and lets not forget the slavery... even if it was a long time ago it's their heritage...
im sure if white people were enslaved by black people it would be the opposite, but that isnt the case...
and WET would NOT be racist, just your wierd way of altering reality into thinking that there would be a big uproar over WET... as i said WPT would be racist, but WET wouldnt, that's the exact reason its BET and not BPT (black people television).
and lets not go off topic about how white people dont know about their own heritage, if they dont take interest its for a reason |

Thanks for the AMERICAN history lesson. Obviously you dont know black canadian history yourself. If you did youd know about the underground railroad. The underground railroad was a secret network of families and aides that helped blacks from the south escape the slave trade. Want to know where the end of the underground railroad was? Where the promised land was?
CANADA, thats right. Us evil white canadians were the ones who let blacks enjoy freedom.
I dont recall slavery ever happening in Canada. I dont recall ever hearing about blacks in canada going to the back of the bus. And until 1977, there was no major league baseball in canada for blacks or whites.
Please dont offend me with your racist generalisations about white people. Because although Canadians werent perfect either, we werent quite the oppressors that some americans were in the past.
It always offends me when black people use someone else's history to try and guilt canadians into falling in line with their agenda.

its happening right now in the islands in the form of prostitution. In fact they think that Natalee halloway was a victim of the white slave trade.

there would be an uproar and you know it. Perhaps a better way to address things for equality is to make sure that ALL history and ALL points of view are represented on ALL mediums instead of creating pidgeon hole formats like BET

Its not off topic... black history month is to make blacks and others aware of black history, all im saying is why not do the same for white history since we feel the need to single out acheivements based on race? |

seing how i dont have the time or patience to quote everything you put, ill just give you a normal response...
nowhere did i say i didn't know about black canadian history.. i knew about the underground railroad, read the novel, have been educated on it in the past... don't think I'm ignorant to that, and I never said it was Canadian history that involved the slave trade.. and i never said there was NEVER a white slave trade... and slavery in the form of prostitution, that's not only white people...
and i NEVER said canadians were the oppressers, I said black people went THROUGH oppression..
and BET is american, so that's why I say all those things like slavery and what not... keep up buddy
Maybe I can concede to the fact that there would be an uproar, but it would not be big at all.. it would be more like a roar.. because as we can see here theres a "roar" going on with BET, and thats the only reason why i beliewve that...
I never said there shouldnt be a white history month, i just encouraged anyone who takes the message to complain to their government...
never distort reality, kids. Take it for what it is |

| i honestly agree with the liberals here ( for once *shutter*) i dont think that he should be permitted to come to canada didnt watch the movie ( if he was a convicted criminal then he should be treated like all of them in regards to our immigration laws) not to mention his glorification of violence and women as sexual objects ( yes this is rap but come on, 50 cent is the biggest thing right now) a movie abt his life ( barf) and very successful albums ( in regards to sale), and clothing. yes it doesnt cause these youths to go shoot up ppl or become misogynist but just cause he's famous it shows we dont give a rats ass, criminal charges no go. ... no whats next , what if , this is 50 cent come on. and this is just my opinion |

But the Liberals had no problem giving tax credits to him so he could film his movie here.
You cant have it both ways. The Liberals seem to think they can and usually end up tricking the average canadian every single time. |

Yo, don't make me pull MY heritage out... your 100 or so years of slavery are nothing compared to opressions my people underwent for 500 years, so STFU!
And no, I don't bring that into question every time I feel like I haven't been treated right, proper, honest, and whatnot... face the reality instead. |

whoa, hold on now...is "the Liberal Party" trying to ban him...or is Dan McTeague trying to ban him? McTeague sent the immigration minister a letter and that's all, no? I don't recall an official response from the immigration dept or from the Liberal party.
(I'm asking...I don't know) |

Important point... those lying cheating Liberals like Dalton McGuinty rejected the ban.
| quote: |
The debate over rapper 50 Cent's influence on the gun culture heated up today with McGuinty rejecting McTeague's call for the rapper to be banned from performing next month in Toronto and other Canadian cities.
McGuinty said, "I wouldn't put too much stock" in the rapper's ability to influence gangs and said the cause of the gun violence in Toronto is "much more complex" than a rapper's lyrics and image.

My opinion on the matter: I think it is important (especially in Toronto) that somebody stand up to 50 Cent, and tell him that we don't want him here... but I think that responsibility is up to the people.
Can we at least all agree that 50 Cent is a twat? |
