Yeah, I found that ridiculous too! :wtf: And the two systems aren't cross-compatible!!! :wtf: :wtf: I guess that's the only way to make it a successful business, otherwise people would pick up signals that they're not paying for I guess...

And the Howard Stern thing is pathetic :whip:

Um, it's all on there, and far easier to find than on XM's site.

Just found it upon further inspection- off to the right of the screen (who looks THERE??). Sadly, they only list the channels, & not descriptions, like their US website.

Luckily, Radio 1 is offered here- the deciding factor will be Howard Stern.

Does anyone know if extra $$ will be added on your bill for taxes, like they do for phone and cable here?

From a stock perspective - I'd buy no more than 15% of total portfolio value in XMSR rather than SIRI. When XMSR reaces $37, I'd sell. (disclaimer: I do not own this stock, nor do I intend to own this stock).

From a content perspective - I can't comment (yet - give me time to familiarize myself with the content).

Sound investment advice! :D Also check out their P/E ratio (not that I care...:p)

I thought many Canadian's have bought units & subscriptions in the US b4? Just as long as u have a US billing address u can use.... If that comment has any truth to it, that would mean Americans crossing the border would suddenly lose reception, which I doubt really happens in real life.
edit: I guess it means that u can't buy a unit in the US and expect to get the Canadian service.

Just too bad that Sirius Canada didn't sign on Howard Stern...

Its thanks to the CRTC. The CRTC wont let canadians have the same units and/or subscriptions because they want to be able to monitor what we listen to. They wont allow Howard Stern in canada because our satellite radio will be regulated whereas in the US it is not.

Big brother at work again!

Free country my ass!

you laugh but its true.... i hate how our government interferes with EVERYTHING!

It always will!!! Anyone who believes we live in a purely free country is sadly mistaken...having lived in Saudi Arabia for 12 years, I can appreciate *some* govt. involvement, but not a monarchy!

i agree with you 100%.
As someone who works with Sirius radio canada, I wouldn't be suprised if in say 3 months the Stern would be available in Canada. this is not a fact, it's just a guess by me.

It all comes down to one thing. this is a subscription service that I am paying for, so the CRTC should right off. I watch pay per view tv, I subsrcibe to things like the Fight Network...no one tells me it has to be 85% canadian content.

The CRTC is a fine body of government, but it's rules are outdated and need to be overhauled.

bbc radio1 is listed under the Pop genre on the sirius website...
does that mean we will get essential mix?
or does that mean we only get britney spears on radio1?

the channel The Move on XMSR looks tempting though...
all i want is house.
house mixes.
house tracks.
house livesets.
house...........

Yes.
At least, that's what it says on the US website. < #1 reason why I'm going with this- I've missed FAR too many essential mixes and festival webcasts from having to get in my car and go somewhere.

so i guess sirius will be the one to subscribe to for EDM lovers.
i need to get the sirius adapter for my alpine deck.
all the xm/sirius receivers advertised on futureshop/bestbuy run on FM which would suck.
