The rarest of rare Vinyls??? (pg. 58)

i completely agree too with waxhead, on the story of whats rare, that that specific track doesnt have to be good. that's why i made thread that was a bit more spcific, called 'what is-are the most sought after record(s)?' (thread located HERE thrad is kinda old now, no more replies since a couple of months. next to that, rarities differ from time to time, because tasts change sometimes, and music changes.

i have heard/know stories of a lot records that arent on discogs, but which are pretty rare. some of em are named in this thread, on the first 20 pages i think. that are replies from 2 or 3 years ago, and still those records arent on discogs. as i wasnt into trance/edm-music in that part of my live so much, i dont know most records, but when you look at the replies on those suggestions of rarities, they are pretty rare sometimes (for some people at least). and after a check on discogs i couldnt find them, so i guess they're maybe more rare then something on discogs indeed, again agreeing ith waxhead

what is an acetate anyway? i know of one record, that is pretty 'rare' (only 1 on discogs has it), and wanted (23 want it) .. => http://www.discogs.com/release/294879
an acetate on hooj choons ... but what is an acetate?

again waxhead has another point. whats a collector's item is in the eye of the beholder;)

a record that is recorded as a test on a material usually different than vinyl... a sort of "test" pressing so to speak. cheaper to make than say 1,000 vinyls and is a great way to get your music off to a huge dj without spending $1,000 to do it.

only problem with acetates is that they wear down quickly... usually only allow about 60 plays or so and then they're junk.

an acetate, wares out after after up to several plays, then they are as about as much use as a chocolate teacup, but its nice to own one so long as u dont play it!

so how much is the Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape Mix) (POSITIVA PROMO) worth? I just bought it on ebay but I think I found a store selling it for like 85 USD.
