i agree with you Haak. i don't really like the idea of filler tracks either. for example...

DJ Remy - Pumped Up

is it going to be an anthem in a set? no, but its a badass tune to play...

i think filler track implies that it's lower quality...not that it's not an anthem. so maybe we're just talking about a choice of words which really isn't that big of a deal, but i agree with you...i don't like the idea of "filler" tracks.

That's why it's under the alias "Mode Hooker".

BTW saw this track yesterday at my record store, didn't know it was on Armind. That surprised me :p

i think this is one of the best angello & ingrosso tracks....

Could do without the melodic part

reminds me like M. Dekay - bad a bit, which is his best track -the melodic part

filler does not mean lower quality whatsoever

haak u dont play any filler songs or anthems??? u have a set to d/l i'd like to hear what ur talkin about..building a set by using different levels of energy to flow up or down pretty much implies that you have some filler in there, thats the REASON for having it.

i think u misunderstand the meaning of filler track

o and by the way... the svd remix of breathe is prolly one of the biggest tracks right now,a filler song, and its really not that diff from the original.

i donno what djs u listen to, but they all play filler i guarentee it...though im open to being proved wrong......

well you are entitled to your own interpretation of what a filler track is, but to me a filler track is basically a track that you use in your set because you need to fill a spot...something that really isn't that great, but is good enough to play inbetween good songs.

and everyone's definition is going to be different because i think it varies a lot based on someone's taste.

for example:

John Digweed Live @ Global Gathering

01. Bedrock - Santiago
02. John Dalback - Prankster
03. El Presidente - Without You (Infusion 117 Stomping Dub)
04. DJ Phunk - Phunky
05. Bono - Let's Go
06. Gutterstylz - Dirtbox
07. Tronic Inc - Beloved
08. Pryda - Aftermath
09. Kisses From Venice - I Don't Know

now in this set IMO, i don't see anything filler tracks at all...every track is good and it flows very nice. as opposed to just playing tunes for the sake of playing them like you might get on ASOT or whatever...

zip it, sasha & digweed live off filler house tracks, then throw something good in, thats what makes them really good, and where they got their "progressive" name from. throw a filler, build, throw a filler, build...

Setting up 1 track for another... They love to play fillers then drop something proggy, or trancy.

Santiago->prankster..without you & DJ Phunk - Phunky (filler house)... Let's go->dirtbox...Tronic Inc - Beloved (filler house))... Pryda - Aftermath

for some of you "filler" means "not an anthem"

for others "filler" mean "lower quality"

for me.. well.. i don't care, it's semantics, just someone decide definitely for one of the meanings and proceed with the discussion by agreeing all with each other

lol obviously a filler track is to fill a spot, but why can't it be great? Breathe is a filler song and a load of people like it...does that not mean its a great filler track? ummmm i think it does. and like i said... good filler makes a set.

way to pick a 1hr set... depending on who u ask could go both ways, could all be filler, or could be all top notch songs but its prog house, a bad example cause thats what digweed/sasha do..its all filler most of the time, and theyre good cause they dont rely on anthems to make their sets. And i didn't say djs play filler in every 1hr set..i said every dj plays filler, and digweed and sasha have a hell of a lot of it.

by the way i think the last song is called angelmoon - irregular peace

edit - lazy chick considers it all filler house... all the songs are great..the set is great.... so if we go by her defination...like i said.. good filler makes a set.

what?

i hope you guys don't think i was saying breathe was a filler track? i'm just talking in response to what people were saying to Haak. hell i am one of the first people to ever mention Angello & Ingrosso on TA...i'm a big fan...

but i'm gonna stand by what i've said about filler tracks. maybe you think prog house is by definition filler, but i disagree completely. and i still think that to me...and i'm sure what Haak was getting at as well...is that filler to us is a really unimpressive track...and that's why we were confused as to why steve would call his own track a filler. you can call it whatever you want, but i'm gonna keep considering it what i want...anyway this is a stupid argument so yeah...i'll go back to reading other threads now
