Im torn between 2 events.
Plan A -
Do the family thing, then at 12:30-1:00 head to avalon till 10am. (Im not a spundaes fan and the other big event is all ages which i cant stand. Pretty much, i prefer avalon over every club ive been to in LA, which is mostly all of them.)
Plan B -
Go to vegas and see Tiesto/Matt Darey.
Problems forseen:
Plan A has a crappy DJ for avalon, ive never heard of the guy so i got some of his live sets, and its so crappy i couldnt even keep the mp3 on my hard drive because it stunk up the room. Its as bad as Bad Boy Bill, if thats even possible.
Plan B will cost a fortune to pull off the right way and i dont get to spend the time with the family as i usually do. Matt Darey is my FAV DJ of all time however, which is what makes this choice so insanely hard for me.

Pff that...if he says, "and its so crappy i couldnt even keep the mp3 on my hard drive because it stunk up the room. Its as bad as Bad Boy Bill, if thats even possible." He'll have more fun at a "good" dj like Matt Darey |

| Dude please don't go to Avalon we don't need clueless gimps like you there listening to the 'crappy DJ.' Get drunk with your parents instead, that sounds like the real party. |

A consideration for all those on the nutsack of said crappy DJ (i dont want to say his name, in fear it might lead to me enjoying the sight of a man touching another man). Have you even heard his sets? Here is what i heard so far:
Kiss100_sat 2005-11-27 Sander Kleinenberg
Sander Kleinenberg and Lee Burridge - This is Everbody (2CD)
I want to make sure we're talking about the same rubbish here, due to the fact that i enjoy such tunes as Russia Goes Clubbing - AVB, Matt Darey - Live in Australia 05-27-05, and so much more GOOD tunes. Thats the type of trance (known as GOOD) i like and have in the car. Please help if me out if we're discussing a different DJ then the one mentioned above.
On a real note, i realise everyone has everyone has different tastes and styles they prefer, im just stating that i did not enjoy the style i heard from the sets i listened to. So if thats the style that will be played all night, i would like to know so i can make plans otherwise. No love lost and no hostility =) |

1. Wow you think sander is Crap? Have you seen him live???? Sander Owns when he plays long sets! 2 hrs dosn't do him justic imo that is just a warm up. Besides he uses the DVD thingy so the vissulas go with the music.
2. The TIC show is going to be amazing!! The kinks got worked out for this one. I would have been there if Markus was not in town for sure!
Besides that same night you get to see you Favoirt DJ Matt.. so it is a win win..
Staying home on New years Eve with The rents is a LAMEO idea! imo |

Wow, don't like Spundae and would prefer to go to Avalon from a venue standpoint (talen excluded)? Hmmmmmmmmm........
Circus destroys Avalon as far as vibe goes. Avalon's sound is better, but Avalon's vibe sucks.... :)
I'd rather go to Together As One over Avalon when looking purely from a vibe/venue standpoint (talen excluded). Just be sure to stay in the main part of the crowd up front away from the puddles.
Don't like Sander K? Do you even like EDM? Seriously!!!
The kinks in TiC for Vegas have been worked out? How can anyone know that. It's the first US TiC since the LA one...and I still don't think it's going to be nearly sold out. I could be wrong. I just think the location (Vegas is not very EDM-centric), the overall price of doing New Years in Vegas, the number of amazing parties in LA keeping people in town, the clientel that tends to go to Vegas on New Years (I have a good friend who does event management at a few of the big hotels in Vegas and he said Vegas is snob-central on New Years...says it's one of the worst places around to experience it and people do not go to Vegas to spend NYE listening to music all night), etc...well, I just think it makes the odds of nearly selling out not so great. Let me be clear, though...I hope it does do very well. I think it doing very well would be a great thing for the EDM scene in the US...as long as the LA events do well, too. I just don't think it's going to do well, ticket sales wise, in the end. Just my two cents.
Dave
