i am pretty sad, he was 14 and we took him in from the outside when he was a kitten. he was sick earlier this year after i left home. my family says he really went downhill after i left. i would have taken him with me, but i didnt want to put him thru quarantine, b/c he was old. i just came home on Saturday. so i cant help but feel guilty, b/c he was really attached to me. we did as much as we could for him, but there is a point when the cat just gets old that you cant put them thru so much. that and vets can be soo damn expensive. my family spent a thousand on the cat earlier in the year when he was sick and it helped him, but then he got sick again last week. i believe we did all that we could. my dad said he waited until i got home to die :(.
it wouldnt be so bad, but i also have an 18 year old cat that is ready to go soon. she is just old and we went to the vet yesterday and her kidneys are going. she is still able to walk and do daily functions, but i do not want to have to make the decision of putting her to sleep.
it just really sucks. |

| Yeah it must suck indeed.. I own a 2 year-old cat too and I love the little fella.. Since its my first pet, I dont know how I'll react when he dies tough.. my guess is I wont be too shocked at first, but with time I'll miss him, since right now I live alone with him, I'm getting used to him being around... and I know the appartment feels very empty when he's gone to the vet or soemthin.. |

| Our 14 yr old cat died too, last august. We found her on the traintracks before her eyes were even open. It was the most emotional i have ever seen my dad. Sorry about your kitty. |

the orange one is the one that just died. they arent the best looking pics, b/c he was older at the time. all the good pics i have are on paper and i dont have a scanner. the darker one is the old one. that was taken 2 years ago. i refuse to take a pic of her now, b/c she has lost a lot of weight and just looks sick. i dont want to remember her like that.

aww man, i hate to hear that:( i'm really sorry. i've lost a few pets in my day and it is very depressing...especially if you are like me and get super attached to your animals and treat them like a human baby.
just know that your baby isn't suffering any more. and don't let your other cat suffer too much either. it's always hard to make that decision, but do what's in the cat's best interest. if his/her quality of life is , then you should put him/her to sleep you know?
time will heal. |
