new tracklists site

I've started this site a few weeks ago. Its a fresh/modern attempt in building a web archive of dj set tracklists. Its using the same software as wikepedia which allows anyone to become a user and contribute information. I'm still working on the navigation and I'm adding content myself but of course its not enough. Check the site out and if you can provide any help I'd be grateful - its something that will be useful for everyone here I guess.

Cool idea.

As you can see from my sig i'm working on a Tiesto equivalent with a bunch of other people. With one main difference that its just over his career - and not his livesets. Just any event he ever played.

If you need someone to regularly spring clean the Tiesto section - i can gladly be of help.

Doing the whole of the scene dance-paradise style is pretty daunting IMO.

Good luck with it.

mammoth. i like it. let's hope it gets enough regular support.

THANKS FOR IT.

Cool, I love the idea. I hate not finding that one track that drives me nuts. Good luck!

thanks to everyone

MichaelBoogerd! thats the idea basically, if a user takes up updating a part of the site (the tracklists for their favorite dj for example) it will keep the site going.

First of all you must be logged in. Then go to the artist page you want to add a tracklist and click on Edit (its on the top of the page). You'll see the source "wiki" of that page. Add the tracklist title in the page and enclose it in double square brackets [[ ]] e.g.

[[Armin Van Buuren ... bla bla set]]

then click Save and a new link will be created to the page with the title you just posted. Then you just click on the new link, choose Edit once more and just write in your tracklist. Sounds complicated but its much easier in practice.

hint: Try clicking Edit on various pages to see how they are formatted internally so you can do the same.

very cool site idea. i like the clean appearance. i'd like to help you with the a ton on this site. having tried to do a couple of the tracklist archive things on TA...it's really hard when you're the only one who can edit things hahaha...so that's really awesome.

is there going to be a certain format that all tracklists will be in? i think that would really keep things going nicely.

I really like this idea. If you wanted to I'm sure you could get commitments from some of us to manage the tracklists of DJs who we particularly like.

I know I'd help out.

for the time being I'setting up a proper category system or else the whole thing will become very confusing to navigate through. basically a Tracklist belongs to an Artist which can also belong to a Radio Show or a Live Set and at the same time to a Year (so you can have a full list of all tracklists for a particular year). Artists themselves belong to a Genre (can be more than one). the basic heirarchy is there but it will evolve as the archive grows, thats the fun thing about wiki's - the structure is driven by the users as well as the content. will probably need to have a few moderators as we go along.
