My girlfriend is getting lots of bites in my apartment, could be fleas? help pleaseee (pg. 2)

Here are a couple of suggestions. look for a flea feces at the base of your cats tail. To look for this, just brush your cats hair at the base of the tail backwards. If you see small black particles, almost like pepper, that is flea excrement. Even if you've never seen any fleas in the apartment and even though you have hardwood floors, you could still have fleas. They can lie dormant for up to a year and then when you move in, bingo they are stimulated by warmth, movement, and a food source (your cat).
My best suggestion, if you determine that it is a flea problem, is to try a product called Frontline. it's a pill that you give to your cat once a month for 3 months. It will kill any fleas on your cat and any fleas that get on your cat for the next 30 days. usually the 3 months is enough to stop the fleas life cycle. it's very easy on the cat too, no nasty shampoo or spray to worry about. |
