My girlfriend is getting lots of bites in my apartment, could be fleas? help pleaseee (pg. 5)

It is either bedbugs or fleas. Fleas are easy to get rid of if you buy "Carpey busters" flea treatment. bedbugs I dunno about.
some spiders I kill some spiders I let live... it depends on how I feel about the spider at the time, and what kind it is. |

odds are its bedbugs.
eventuallly you would see fles. i just saw a report on tv on how bedbugs are making a huge comeback. hers the cbs report here:

a sure way of telling is to sleep in white sheets. then look for little red dots on the sheets. those red spots are bedbugs that have gorged themselves with blood and then were crushed by you as you slept. |

SITUATION UPDATE:
I am pretty sure it's actually bedbugs. Last night I cleaned the entire appartment down, I found one little round redish bug on the floor, about 4-5 mm long. I looked at pictures of bedbugs, and I think it's the same.
Also, I didn't notice my cat scratch at all for about 5 hours while I was home last night. I doubt the fleas would live in the appartment without attacking my cat.
As I said, it's a really old building, over 100 years old, and there are little crevices in the floorboards, and especially in the baseboards. They could easily hide in there.
I was abit crazy last night and emptied out an entire can of bug spray in there.. That wasn't such a good idea, ahhaha. The smell was really strong, even when I went in another room, and I could taste it in the air. My mouth started getting all numb and feeling weird, and my cat started drooling :( I opened up the windows to air it out and froze from the -10' air coming in.
My mouth still feels alittle weird but I think it's okay now.
I'll probably tell the landlord that I think the place is infested with bedbugs. They should be responsible for getting some professional pest control, shouldn't they? |

Ah I already thought about that. In the case you have -10' air and you are sure that you have fleas in your appartment, then the solution is much simpler:
Open the window for the whole day. That will kill all animals in your appartment. Be sure though, that you do not run into freezing problems with your water installation.
If you can't do that, take your bed or your bed mattress with you out of the door for some time. bed bugs and similar animals like it warm and cold conditions will kill them. That removes spiders, mites, and all other animals as well. beds are known to be zoos for all types of animals. You have millions of (mostly harmless but sometimes leading to allergical problems) parasites in your bed all the time. The cold air will kill them as well.
Ah yes, and clean your floor and your appartment each second day for the next few weeks.
Update: in case you are absolutely sure (required) that it is bedbugs you will need to inform your landlord because it is impossible for you to remove them. But you need to be sure. For example, you can smell bedbugs. if you come into your appartment and it smells "sweet", then it might be that you have bedbugs. |

bedbugs are bad. and tiny round RED/Orange bugs that look like dots . . . here in georgia... are usually chiggers. and they are very nasty to get bit by.
bedbugs are damn near impossible to get rid of. |

Joking or not, you should really consider taking your life a little more seriously. Start respecting yourself, think before you spit out this kind of attitude at others.
Anyways Paul, I would get the issue taken care of asap, talk to the landlord, get it sprayed but whatever you do, do NOT spray it yourself... ;p |
