Make sure you clean this very thoroughly after every use:

Have you thought about it possibly being spider bites? I was actually talking to my vet today (had to take my dog in, cause she has a slipped disc in her neck) and he was saying that fleas won't bite people unless there is a lack of a cat/dog host. For whatever reason they will only bite people if they cannot get to the animal. So, I kinda doubt if its flea bites. If the bites are like red circles with a bit of a point in the center, they're probably spider bites caused by those harmless green looking spiders. (common in the west coast)

it seems like it's fleas indeed ...buy frontline as people told u .....vacuum everything throw away the old carpets and more i don't think it's your cat who had the fleas but rather the place had them before .....i dunno for u but here u buy frontline in spray put some all over the place wash your bed and hopefully u'll get rid off of them !
im like your gf .....fleas love me and i got 2 dogs who enjoy being in our garden so sometimes following the seasons they got fleas and we treat them and the house otherwise the fleas bite my legs and it's horrible !
good luck

Im thinking it wasnt one of my better ideas to read through this topic while eating lunch.

Get your cat a penis. She is horny and her heat is attracting fleas.

Hm.

1.) Clean the floor at least twice a week (use soap)
2.) clean the furniture coverings twice a week (vacuum cleaner)

With other words do what you do not want to do: keep the appartment as clean as possible and that not only once a month but at least two times a week. This removes the eggs and early stages of the fleas. The development cycle of fleas takes roughly two weeks. In the two weeks time it might be that your cat has a few days without fleas (but they will come back) if you do not clean your appartment twice a week. For you and your cat that means:

3.) Normal hygiene measures (a bath at least once in two days) should be sufficient for humans.
4.) Follow the advice others gave to remove fleas from your cat. It can be necessary to repeat it two or three times.

Ah yes, a flea can live for up to one year (but most do not live for more than one month). So it can take some time before all the fleas are dead. Just clean your appartment as described and they will be gone after some time.
