| The Yankees dont need to score more runs though, they did just fine last year, most of their losses came because of poor pitching, more politically correct term would be very inconsistent pitching. |

For the record, the five tools are 1) hitting for average, 2) hitting for power, 3) running speed, 4) arm strength and 5) fielding ability.
I give him avg, speed, and arm strength. lol just kidding on the arm strength. And fielding ability actually, he can track the ball.
I give him 3 |

| Bernie on the other hand is a 0 tool player at this point in his career, Bubba is a 1 tool player |

Yeah I was thinking the same. He's definitely got some pop for a leadoff hitter (game 7 off Javy Vasquez). Especially in Yankee Stadium (short RF) even though he traditionally hasn't fared that well there avg. wise. |

He can hit. And he can run.
That's two.
He's not an above average defender anymore. |

I disagree, I think he can still field quite well, above average. Not Torii Hunter, Andruw Jones (learn to spell your name right buddy), but still good.
When did Damon become a geezer? He's 32. Let's put it in perspective, I'm almost 30 and I can run circles around you Shamus. Circles I tell ya. |

I don't doubt it. I have terrible knees.
See... this is the thing. Reputation. It's all about reputation. Andruw Jones is *not* the fielder he was 2 or 3 years ago. He was the best I had ever seen then. And he is still the best I have ever seen. But stats say he has certainly lost a step or two out there. Jim Edmonds? Everyone thinks he's so great and blah blah blah. He hasn't been a good defender since he was on the Angels. Torii Hunter... I'm not sure about him. He's probably still good. I'm trying to find a website with UZR and DRA statistics, which are much much better in telling how good of a defensive player someone is, but they are such hard to find statistics. Oh well...
In Damon, I see 2 'tools.' Hitting. Running. That's all. |

I was talking about Damon. In Bernie, I only see the magical '6th tool,' which is the ability to walk. |
