Boxing Day Shopping (pg. 3)

| I don't understand how people will go out and spend so much on christmas, and then right after, go out and spend so much on boxing day. Really, the only thing that bugs me is the fact that most people shopping on boxing day are out for it for the hell of it. They're not buying anything because they NEED it, or have thought about getting it before.... they'll buy anything just because it's on sale?? That just.. WOW.. I don't even know. I hate how futureshop has to be open at 6am!! And I bet it'd be crowded as if it were 4pm. Companies are encouraging these people.. ahh i don't even know anymore. I just hate the cheapness of it all.. so degrading. |

Very true. It seemed to me to be worse than usual this year for some reason - in recent years they would mark something up 40% and then give 50% off, so it was actually a bit of a discount; this year I'm seeing items marked up 40% and given 30% off.

Well 8am didn't come through for me ...
Lots of great deal on my clothing, all was marked down to 50% off. There was a polo shirt I wanted for a while, but didn't care to buy it at full price. B/C, I already have the white ver ...
Crowd wise, there was a lot of ppl. But it was no biggie. |

I headed over to a future shop in Waterloo today @ 2 and it was busy but not too bad. Some of the staff were saying people had lined up at midnight to get in there.
No real great deals. I got a new 42" Samsung DLP HDTV but I don't think I saved that much...maybe $500.00 but that's it. |

I went out to the Garden State Plaza (one of the 2 or 3 largest malls in the tri state [con, NYC, Jersey) region). I got there at 9:30am and was shocked at how few people were there! Last year there were traffic jams 10 miles out on the highways and the state troopers had to show up to direct traffic! this year I got parking about 50 feet from one enterence. Despite being given about $160 in mall gift cards I walked out with nothing. this mall has all of my favorite stores but I just didn't see anything the jumped out at me. maybe I'll go back in a week or two and see they have any new year things in.
boxing day this year for me was very meh.
The one place that was rocking was the mega flagship Victoria's Secret store. They have way better/more stuff in the one here than even the biggest one in Los Angeles that I was at a few weeks ago. But without my gf present there isn't much point in buying. |
