housey trance = house intros and trancey middles (according to the vast wealth of genres definitions & understandings in my awesome knowledge base, lol).
its not as good as good ol 140bpm epic monsters, but infinitely better than any house tune ive heard ever. |

Well, you know that three eyed fish in the simpsons. A once proud and sea faring marlin reduced to a bottom feeding abomonation by the twisted perversions of Mr Burns?
Well, the marlin is trance, and Mr Burns is house. Gettit? |

Not at all. All Im suggesting is that its not a good look when newbies come onto message boards and everyones talking about how dead trance is. They then go and read all the posts in the House and Breaks forums and get a better vibe so go with that.

I am said noobie and reading this thread does NOT make me want to go read all the house breaks forums. If anything it makes me want to get out there and help trance. It seems that trance has skipped a generation, as I think someone said earlier, and quite probably due to the clever marketing of house and that aspect of popular culture. But as far as I, and a lot of my 'next generation' 18 year old friends are concerned popular culture at the moment is a ing laughing stock.
Dont worry guys I have a feeling that within the next few years the 'artists' are going to be making a comeback. |

yes but you are an exception with exceptional taste obviously. I was referring to the crowd (that usually make up the numbers at most events) who just want to go with whatever everyone else is into.
I love trance and I think it will come out stronger in the next couple of years. |

Then they wouldn't be reading trance addict. They are just there cos everyone else is, they have no interest in the music. |

And that's exactly what was prevalent to my eyes at Pyramid Rock Festival new years eve. The music was horrible, electronic wise I mean, and nobody seemed to care, because they were there for the party, not the music. As long as it had some kind of beat that they could 'dirty dance' to and hopefully 'score with all the chicks' they were in muzza heaven.
I guess what I think would be bad about trance becomming more mainstream is that these kind of people would be there ruining it. It needs to have some element of and underground feel otherwise it is just over marketed dribble. The reason I love alternative forms of music so much is most likely because I'm a pretentious prick and it makes me feel more elite :P. Oh and yeah the music too... yeah woo for music. |

Well it seems like the Melbourne trance massive stood up last night. Altitude had a massive night for the final installment of Deliverance with 300+ fronting up and from what i read Obsession pulled off yet a another big room event with qulaity local dj's.
Now all we need to do is try and not clash and perhaps we can double the number of people at these events really get things going again.
Good work to the people in charge of both bashes |
